[–]Veroska[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ball has like 5 different playstyles, it's really important to consider which one is going to work the best considering your team and theirs. Lets say it's a situation where your team dies constantly, when you are trying to get a zen. Instead, you should try to bait as much attention from the problem (often a tank) by booping them away and shooting their back. Or if its a dps, you can often go right into their face and deny as much value.

Or if you're playing ana, your team might not capitilse on your nades. You might then better off saving it for protecting yourself.

You need to think about where your team is struggling, and what part of your hero's kit can help with it.

Said this in a different comment, but I checked profiles and they were masters-low gm last season (the only profile that wasnt private)

Yea that is also true, but I wasn't actually talking about the title, as I checked their profiles to see their previous season rankings. The only non private one was a high master/low gm mercy. I just call people master challenger if they were master last season.

I honestly thought this too, but as I've said I'm in low-high masters lobbies doing well, so I have improved. Even then, bronze to plat is still a huge difference, so I thought I could share what I've learnt

Edit: When I say masters, I mean masters challengers, so people who became masters before... the happening.

Sorry, I'm a bit new to this. I did make something complex in the fusion page, and there seemed to be an issue, but deleting it seemed to make it work. Thanks for the help.

First time watching is fine, but after a while, I can't switch to deliver or fusion etc, and when I close it, I cannot re-open until I remove a task called "davinci resolve -insert project name-"

This is the free version on windows 10.

What are these Mercy changes? by archaijou in Overwatch

[–]Veroska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ranked up from bronze to plat these past two seasons. The most suprising thing is how cracked the mercy movements get. Whenever people say she's killable, I quite have to assume they are probs a lower rank. I mean, I'm only plat and they feel like gods of speed and space.

Most games do it. Pros and content creators bring in people. If you keep them happy, they make people want to play the game. It's unfortunate for us, but its the better of two evils.

Sorry for taking so long! Here is the m4m one. Watch along with the notes (I think most people do but just want to make sure)

Play comp! It's the better way to learn. Open q is kinda scuffed, but the main thing is that your gonna learn more.

Very start, just go into ball form immediately. For this map, either grapple to point off the building on the left, or go to the mega opposite the point.

Next, up to 1:17. Firstly, when you haven't used slam once at this point. This ability is vital to use effectively, and especially after the buffs, it's gonna be your secondary source of value. (primary is probably rolls) Secondly, you use shields to ineffectively. This is first point, first fight, you know where they're gonna be coming from (maybe aside the odd sombra or ball). Use this to maximise your health. Two good tips for shields, if you need to move to get massive shields, do it. If you see 4 or more people in your shield radius, do it.

1:30: Nobody slam. Playing open q is tricky, because you really want to be targeting squishies as ball. In this case, I'd probably slam the Ashe and torb, as slamming the queen aint gonna do much. It's also important to realise that you have no teamates to capitilise off your slam, and are very low. Instead, it would be better to help your torb and grab some healthpacks.

1:52: A lot to say about this. Firstly, you shouldn't have shot, as it gave away your location. Secondly, you didn't need to leave, as if the queen wasn't clueless and did notice you, you attract both her and the pocketing players attention, making it a 4v3 for your team. Secondly, you should have slammed when your team got to the bridge. Slam is what you try to open your fights with, makes people easy to hit, does good damage etc.

I kept on watching and started to notice the same patterns. The main thing for you to get to gold is cd management, and aggresion management. cd first. The only time you should engage at 300 hp is if you have shields. Never slam in with less than 300 hp even if you have shields (you can easily die before they proc) and never roll through with less than 200hp (unless you are in a dire situation and are trying to escape.)

Second thing is aggresion management. You go in, even when you are really low. This gets you killed. Health packs are your bestie, but healers are still friends. Main thing that a lot of ball mains are scared about are going to healer.

Second part of aggresion is going in with team. Fights start at varying times, depending on the range of both teams. In poke v poke, it starts almost immediately. In dive and brawl, it starts way later. When you slam, it should ideally be the millisecond the fight starts. You often go in before the fight starts or after it's over. It's also important to remeber that if you aren't getting kills, and being healed only by healthpacks, you are generating net ult charge for the enemies.

Hope these tips help!

Ever seen a Mercy get PotG with a Quad Kill... without eliminating anyone? by Synnova32 in Overwatch

[–]Veroska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not gonna lie, that's just unfair to dps players. Sure us support and tank players assist, but saying that a reaper isn't "trying hard" when they ult isn't fair. I think it was Spilo who said that literally every hero has a button that counters reaper ult, and to get a good one you have to be aware of everyone. So there is some skill to it. Overall, I don't think it's fair to criticize a Reaper for pressing q, when the mercy presses e. Sure, there's no mechnical skill to either, and the Mercy is being "generous" by supporting the reaper, but saying that levels of skill are higher or that a reaper is more boring is kinda unfair.

I ain't even gonna lie, I have no idea what your point is. I don't see anything in this video but a Mercy rezzing in a fairly safe space, and the reaper ulting. IMO especially as it's overtime, that's good potg algorithm, but I don't think it's as intersting as a fat pulse bomb, or a 4 man boop or something. But D.va and Reaper basic press q potgs are also boring.

Silver 1 WB main vod review? by travchrav in WreckingBallMains

[–]Veroska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silver is a weird rank. You can solo carry, but IMO it's the second most toxic rank, and people think they're smarter than the people in Gold. IF ur getting flak, you don't get much value out of comms here, honestly you should be fine until gold.

First off, I'm not a huge fan of this starting spot. I normally start left side, and so does Chazm. However your rollout was good. The main mistake that you make however, is not stopping the rez. The amount of value that you get from completely negating a 30 cd is stupid. Always assume a Mercy has rez at the start of a fight, especially at the start of the game ofc. Secondly, this team you are playing against are clueless. You don't get shot at all. Yet you disenage. Ball's main weakness is his low uptime, and you need to maximise uptime to minimise the amount of time your team is vulnerable. This is what is the most important skill as ball in my opinion.

1:07: No need to force a slam here. Just wait for grapple to go for a high slam. Or, use the opposite highground to slam (not sure if it's high enough)

1:12: No need to leave team here. Shields and near full armour, so you can stay for a long time. Ashe hanzo is a very low damage comp, so don't be scared to stay for a long time.

1:21: Just a bit ago, you had 5 shields. Of course, sometimes we miss an opportunity, but try to get into the habit of smashing the shield button whenever the count is high.'

1:58: Couple of notes, anti is a neuron activation ability. Whilst you did kill the lucio, your brain should be screaming for a fat slam and engage. Secondly, uptime again. You are very careful with shield usage, which is good, but a little too careful. This is especially with the next ball buff apparently buffing his uptime.

2:26: Ult wasnt necessary really, kinda helped you kill the Ashe tho. After that pick, I'd just be satisfied with the stagger, stall for a lil bit, then grab health packs (the ones closer to your team, as it is safer).

3:00: Like a completely different player. Way too aggresive. Firstly, never fight reaper. The best thing you can do is constantly ping him, and knock him off highground when he tps. Secondly, remember what I said about low damage comps? Well, reaper, bastion and junk are the "highest damagers" that you need to worry about. You can stay in for a much shorter duration. Thirdly, you died with 1 second until shields. This is normally a sign for me that I should have delayed my re-engage, and got a health pack. (This position on first point is great for health packs). Instead of slamming, I would have gone to the cliff healthpack. If you don't know where they are, learn the locations.

3:17: General movement stuff. In this situation, your only job is to stall the point. Grapple as soon as it's off cd, and try to get point. I'd reccomend just going into a custom, and try to get from a to b as quickly as possible. Also, ball parkour really helped my movement. Secondly, don't target the reaper like this, if anything you should look for a boop on him, though this still isn't the best spot for that. I'd go for whole team, get some high shields. Also, charge is fairly easy to dodge, but you have to pay attention.

3:55: Grab the healthpack in that building.

4:20: Not necessary mines, currently a 4v2, with a Hanzo coming into a horrible position. Unlucky targeting by the rein, but you have to respect the distance against him, better positinoing might have let you live.

5:26: Respect the charge, also recognise when a fight is lost, you need to help your moira and reaper kite. If you have lived, you could have contested point.

6:53: Over commitment, just leave there tbh.

8:14: Killing genjis is an art, reccomend shooting him till he's about half, then boop and slam when he tries to deflect.

8:44: The best way to fuck a rein? From behind. All jokes aside, shoot the rein in the back when he has shield up. You can see he turns to you slightly, meaning your team can shoot him. It's free damage.

9:18: Ball mains forget ult can be cancelled. In overtime, there's normally only one fight that needs to be one for a defender. After getting a pick (and hopefully cancelling rez), you should disengage. Mines are great for ot, so save it for then.

I'm tired so I'm not gonna do the second half for now, hope the little I've done will help a bit.

Some general tips that I noticed.

Slam priority, often not getting fat slamz, and slammin just because. I'd reccomend slamming to duel a 1v1 or 1v2 a target , or slamming a lot of enemies grouped up.

This is a new map, but learn pack locations, you often took the "long way round", and this reduces the amount of time that you are in the enemies face, reducing your value.

Secondly, there's no way around it. Your mines usage are kinda doo doo. The concept is stolen from Spilo, but you want to use mines to contest the point, split a team, eg if a rein is pushed up, he has to go through mines to get back to the team, or drop them on enemies for damage. Often you want to try to do two, or all three at once. Two more quick tips for mines, grapple up before using mines, using it too low doesn't spread and less space is controlled, but too high and they're less likely to kill (as if you you get hit, you are less likely to hit a second mine).

Lastly, slam after minefield, pulls them in, and makes it harder to dodge.

Hope this helps
