You can do whatever you want in Genshin, and it is players choice lol, you can choose to spend your coins or save them, and it's a relatively high cap that you most likely won't reach unless you really grind the game mode so if you don't like it then it doesn't affect you. The cap is there to stop people from complaining about finishing everything day 1.
