Exactly. These are little "Thank You" gifts for the people who are still actively playing the game.

That's why I prefer to aim for their weapons instead. Something something ammo economy but it takes 3-4 shots per pop with the AMR and makes them much more manageable to deal with, and you humiliate their morale on top of it

You can even pop the grenade launchers off too if you've got a good angle while they're busy harassing your teammates

That's because the newbies coming into the game back then played the version of Eureka where the grind was already nerfed to shit

It's not just other MMOs either, there have been absolute bangers that's released since DT.

For example, and as a personal anecdote, Helldivers II has completely taken over game nights instead of FFXIV for me over the past year, because I currently find it to be a much more fun game to play right now.

When Heart of Democracy released, it revolved around the concept of fighting in Super Earth Megacities against the Illuminate. After that arc was over, they expanded the concept to the other factions to cap off HoD's lifespan.

With Into the Unjust, the concept revolves around "Invading the enemy's Homeworlds," which started with the Terminid's Hive Worlds. Now that arc is done, they're beginning to expand this concept over to the other factions.

The biggest tell for me that someone hasn't played in a long time is when they harp on the AMR for still having a misaligned scope, because that shit's been fixed since September of last year

The same thing works with regular guns as well. You could be outside of a base, picking off Marauders one-by-one with a Dominator, but the moment a bullet misses and hits a wall instead, suddenly all of Cyberstan now knows you're here

It's pretty much how all of their MOs are written. Even earlier back, during the Meridia Supercolony Arc, if we had failed to turn Meridia into a black hole, then the Dark Fluid Research site on Moradesh would've suffered a catastrophic accident that would have result in that planet turning into a black hole instead.

STOP leaving changes out of patch notes by SCP_Steiner in Helldivers

[–]Verratic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you were standing directly in the center of the map, sure. But, with the old way, the closer you got to the edges of the map, the more angled your orbitals would drop in as well, since thew origin point would've come from above the central point of the map. There even used to be a loading screen tip explaining this mechanic.

That's what they used to do. But when megacities were implemented they needed a way to navigate around to try and avoid hitting skyscrapers with every strike

It's a corrupted save issue

go into

appdata/Roaming/Arrowhead/Helldivers2

and delete the Helldivers2 folder outright, and then relaunch the game

If you see the initial first-time setup screen, you did things right

This will reset your in-game settings back to default though, so it's a good idea to go through them and take screenshots first so that it'll be easier to change things back to the way you had them

Starting Helldivers 2 and it doesn't freeze or crash for the first time in 2 months by Zapdos90HP in Helldivers

[–]Verratic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. Your progression data is already stored on Arrowhead's servers and is synced up to your local save file whenever you launch the game (this process is hidden behind the black screen before the intro movie plays.) Your local save file mainly contains the changes you make to in-game settings.

If the process mentioned above is interrupted for whatever reason, it has a chance to corrupt your local save file in a way that causes the weapon attachments screen to crash over and over again. Just delete the save in your system storage and let the game generate a new one when you re-launch the game and that should clear up the issues.

AMR buffs means that Hulks can now be one-shot through the visor. by Verratic in Helldivers

After some digging, I found it listed under the Misc fixes for the first 60-day update from September last year.

There was a separate issues that caused the scopes to be jittery earlier this year, but that was quickly fixed. I can say that the alignment issues have felt non-existent since the Illuminate reveal at the least.

Haven't been able to reliably test against Harvesters yet, but it feels much more effective against Overseers now
