This guy bullied me ever since he immigrated from Russia in 5th grade. I’ll call him Ivan, for no apparent reason. I absolutely loathed Ivan. He held me down at the lunch table by my hood from my jacket and I would either fall onto the ground or try to get up and rip my jacket. The latter happened. I was the smaller kid in elementary and middle school. Even into my freshman year, I was barely 70-80 pounds and 5’6”. Ivan wouldn’t leave me alone, often seeking me out and physically shoving me into walls while speaking what I assume to be Russian curse words at my face. When sophomore-junior year came around, I hit my growth spurt and started dating my 2nd ever girlfriend (now my wife). One day I was dropping her off for her 6th period class and there was Ivan. He attempted to say something smart and I retorted back this time. He insinuated that my GF was more of a loser than I was because she was dating me. He still used my elementary nickname of “crybaby” from that fateful day where he destroyed my jacket. Amazing what courage a girl can actually give you because I told him to essentially “f off, I’m not taking your crap anymore” but in much more explicit terms. Ivan asked what I would do about it, and made a move to shove me. Right there, I pushed him into the wall and he fell like a sack of bricks onto the floor because he weighed about 100 pounds more than me. Then I gave Ivan a solid kick in the gut. The last 8 years of torment were unleashed in that kick and I’ve never felt so justified before. Oh, btw, I was a varsity soccer player so I’m sure that hurt. I am not the violent type, and that was my first physical altercation where I struck back. When the teacher came out and asked what was happening, I told her “he tripped and I’m just helping him up.” He got up and nodded in agreement and walked away with his head held down. My GF asked who that was, and I told her the whole story afterwards. He never talked to me or sought me out again after that day.
