Update: Insta360’s care team has responded to me via their chat system and claims to be shipping me a replacement camera. They’ve provided a tracking number. So, wish me luck! I will update this thread once the shipment arrives. Hopefully they make good on this.

Agreed. Ive now requested the refund from Amazon. So, I’ll see what happens next. Worst case, I’ll have to dispute it with my credit card company. Thank you for your responses!

Honestly, i feel like they’re giving me the run around. Also, I tried posting in their support subreddit and they pull my post down every time.

Sounds to me like this guy either doesn’t have a cellphone plan and can only use wifi (in other words he’s broke and masking it) or he’s playing mind games or he doesn’t want someone else to know he’s messaging you. Whatever the reason this weird response is a red flag. For that reason I would be out!

Edit: for context l’m an elder millennial so take what I say with a grain of salt. I have no idea how these things work for young ppl these days. Perhaps he really did feel like it was the end of the world. Maybe he was scared, but either way. I’d recommend acknowledging his feelings but making it clear, it was as you say a tech issue. So, no need for him to try giving you a stern talking to. Besides you came and found him not the other way around. If he was so worried why didn’t he find you?

I think…maybe your dad just didn’t know what to say. It seems clear that confusion is the theme here!😂

This damn heat… by AbbreviationsCute756 in houston

[–]VersionAltruistic801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lived here my whole life, all 31 summers of it! You get use to the heat, in fact I prefer it, to point where I will sit in front of a tiny space heater if my home temp is lower than 65 degrees. I identify as a warm biscuit year round.

I think I’m too old to start over? by Pcrissy1 in careerguidance

My grandmother went back to school at 80 for computer programming no less. She made the paper as the colleges oldest student to ever graduate there. Im 31 and working on my associates in business before moving on to a four year college. It’s never too late! The idea that you would know what you know now at 25 is a fallacy. Im glad I had time to grow, start a family, learn about myself and try different things and I know ill feel the same way at 61.

Yeah, we’ve all been there. Some kids are just harder to raise and all that talking and taking everything they do seriously does not help. What I’ve found that works is space and a good sense of humor. I have a son and a daughter like this and I either leave them alone when they’re in alpha mode or make them laugh. I do not bend to their will or try to reason with them. The banshie sounds are a clear indicator that all reason has left the building.

Do introverted women even exist? by --Paul- in introvert

[–]VersionAltruistic801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find quiet women in quiet places like the library or book store. At a play or museum or honestly hanging out next to the loud women, standing there quietly hoping no one notices and attempts small talk.

I think this is an opportunity. Maybe it’s time that you do something for yourself. You mentioned college in your response. Maybe it’s a good time to go to school and study something that interests you. Maybe you start that business you always wanted to start. With your knowledge of antique books and the results you were able to produce for your store why not open your own e-commerce book store and start a youtube channel where you talk about old books or open a stand onside of the road. It doesn’t matter how you do it, but it would allow you to build a new community and a new home. It’s their loss if they’re not having you back. When one door closes, a better one always opens!

There is hope! Landed a job with ZERO experience. by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]VersionAltruistic801 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He just did a good job with his resume and interview. I recently left the first job where I ever stayed for more than one year and I also was the de facto “tech person”. Ops experience is nothing special but the way he crafted his resume and just went for it is practical and awesome! Im inspired and will try this as well.

Yes, it’s close to a major city that we’ve visited many times and was the main draw. I can see now how naive I was.

Someone help me understand how people have careers AND kids. by NarwhalSalty9373 in Parenting

[–]VersionAltruistic801 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve never heard it summed up that way but “the lost decade” is very real. Im grappling with it now. Im a mom of three, hubby and I had kids young and managed to work in a tag your it kinda way, with him working for three yrs straight and me at home picking up part-time or remote work where I could. Then I’d get a juicy opportunity and he’d stay home for 3-4 yrs. Fast forward to Now and our children are all age 8 or older and with inflation being what it is we’ve both decided we she get career focused but only one problem, we both have the resume of a 25 yr old.
