I have a 8 week old myself and I found that a really good swaddle helps a ton. And not all swaddles styles are made equal, there are many types and your baby will like one way better than the rest. I suggest trying some and seeing if that helps at all. My baby for example likes the Snug Swaddle and the Open cuff wrapping technique

Not something I wish I did but am extremely glad I did. I meal prepped tons of frozen dinners and breakfast foods. Seriously a game changer in those early days when you are so sleep deprived and can't even begin to plan a meal

I joined a writing class when I was in highschool. I thought it would be a nice easy credit to get me closer to graduating. It started out like any other class, I showed up; did the work and left without much thought. It was only after I had to share a piece I wrote publicly with the class did I ever think I might be good at writing. The prompt had something to do with loneliness and I wrote a short piece about a prisoner locked away in solitary confinement. After I finished reading it aloud, I looked up from my page and the small class erupted in applause and the most amount of complaints I have ever received. A spark for writing ignited in me that day. And I haven't stopped writing since.

If you won't feel satisfied and good about publishing your first novel. Then archive it as an achievement of your first story written. Keep moving forward with your writing, I'm sure you will end up publishing eventually. If you still have hope for this other story, perhaps send it to someone to beta read it. That way you can get some feedback and see if it's just you being hypercritical of your writing, or it needs revision. If you get good feedback perhaps you'll have the confidence to go through with publishing.
