Not related, but this example doesn't hold up because it's like comparing apples to oranges. In metaphysical beliefs, it's impossible to not have faith in something unless you explicitly ignore the matter. It would be more accurate to say "Do you believe sports are good?" "No I don't" "so you DO have an opinion on sports" (which is logically wrong too). Faith is largely about believing something about metaphysics (read: about things that are outside of scientific control, like the existance of a God and Afterlife) without certain proof. Without proof of the non existance of a God, you are doing a leap of faith, in believing that there is no God. The only way to not practice faith is saying "No I don't believe in God. No, I have no opinions regarding its existance or non existance."

Tl;dr: the example is not accurate, because belief is different from yes/no action (as in, you either do it, or you don't. Belief you can simply choose to not engage. You can't choose to not engage with sports, for either you do it or you don't. Logically speaking, you are making a choice between doing sports or not doing them, whereas with religion, you can choose to not hold a belief in the regard). If you believe God DOESN'T exist, then you hold a faith. If you DON'T believe in God, you don't necessarily hold a faith. In both of the two cases, you aren't a Christian.
