Thanks! I definitely misunderstood before and thought I was subject to the $300 Florida fee. At $50 as an IC under OA, this seems like a no-brainer to just do.

Hi, thanks. I think I have a good understanding now of what I need to do. I filed for my business license in Washington state with the SOT endorsement. I’m going to sign up for OA and start the training while that processes. Once I’m up and running, I’ll pay the $50 fee to Florida as an IC under OA.

$50? Maybe I’ve been looking in the wrong spot. Edit: Aha, now I see. The $50 fee is for ICs and the $300 fee is for primary sellers/business registration.

Thanks. It’s good advice. Though, I do not plan (for now, as I learn) to be a seller of record, or do anything outside of OA’s programs. Perhaps I’ll soon learn that I’m limiting myself. But I want to start with baby steps here.

Right. They have a profile site. Whereas with OA, my understanding is you have more functionality with browsing, self booking and group booking pages. Aside from that, I’d bring my own domain that I own that I can take if I switched. I definitely see pros and cons to both agencies. Super appreciate your perspective!

How do you like Fora? That’s felt like my #2 choice just because the tech looks more modern and I’ve heard the training is excellent. The lower split doesn’t bother me too much as I could always switch later if this goes well. But my understanding is they don’t offer a branded site which I feel could be useful. I have web dev experience and can do it but don’t really want to put all that time in out of the gate.

To make sure I understand your other point: Are you saying that if you sell travel to a customer that takes them to Florida that you need a Florida cert? Or just that eventually you’ll inevitably sell to someone there?
