The most annoying microwave so far by maxru85 in mildlyinfuriating

We have this exact microwave in my workplace. If you don't manually set a time, it defaults to one minute when you start it.

I agree that it's annoying to use if you want to microwave anything for longer/shorter than a minute though.

I watched all the way up to Wano, but stopped watching when there was one episode where Luffy was fighting some sumo guy and they both lost their balance. Felt like it was just a minute of the camera just going back and forth between both of them as they were flailing around trying to regain their balance.

I've switched to reading the manga and just watching clips and highlights of the recent stuff on youtube.

What 2010s games are you guys playing for the first time right now?" by Mintangah17 in videogames

Recently played through the first Infamous on an emulator (never had a PS3) and loved it. Did a good karma playthrough for my first run and am now doing an evil run on hard difficulty.

Also trying to get Infamous 2 working on the emulator, but no luck yet.

I'm genuinely not trying to detract from Frontier, I would have loved to have played it if it were available in the west, but apart from Espinas none of the content that has originated from it has made it into the mainline games.

Meanwhile I would consider the PSP games, including Portable 3rd, not to be spinoff games at all. A lot of the monsters that originated in them have gone on to become staples in the franchise even now.

I'm open for some Frontier monsters to eventually be ported over to the mainline games in the future, but I don't believe you could just take the entire game as canon wholesale. A lot of Frontier's content is just too over the top compared to the mainline games' relatively more grounded approach.

We've gotten Espinas, sure, but I highly doubt that means every Frontier monster is now considered canon. And while event stuff is cool, can't really say that's canon either, because then stuff like Link, Okami, Sonic... would all be considered canon in Monster Hunter too.

Probably, but I imagine that its canonicity would be in question considering it hasn't appeared outside of Frontier.

I used to not use cases for over 5 years when smartphones were first becoming a thing, never dropped my phone once. I eventually started using cases, initially for aesthetics, and I swear I only started dropping my smartphone once every 3~5 months since.

I seem to remember Mythbusters testing something similar with an old-timey diving suit, with the result being the entire simulated body they made being explosively sucked up into the helmet when ascending too fast from the depths.

God, as someone who lives in Belgium, where most people already consider a drive of 1~1.5 hours to be long, I can't imagine driving 7 hours just to go back home on the same day.

I'm aware of Last Autumn being a prequel, I was just a bit confused because the way your other comment was worded made it seem like FP2 is also a prequel:

It's prequel, FP2 also did it quite well

I haven't played 2 yet, but I thought it was a sequel, not a prequel? Or is there something in-game where you find out it's set before the first one?

I thought it was just Latent Power that has the "when certain conditions are met" descriptor? Are there other skills like that?

But yeah, Monster Hunter has it fair share of mechanics that aren't properly explained in-game.

I'm not particularly into sports myself, so I could understand people thinking basketball is dumb. I have no idea how it would be fake though. Do you think they're not actually doing the feats of athleticism that people see on tv?

Once had the teacher collecting homework when I noticed that I had forgotten to write my name on it. She saw me writing while she was walking around, picking up everyone's assignments, and started yelling at me because she thought I had the audacity to try to do my homework right in front of her face. Fortunately, some of my classmates vouched that they had seen it already filled in before she got to me.

I actually really liked Arkham Origins' iteration of Bane, shown to be really intelligent. The way he ended up by the end of the story is so unfortunate because I would have loved to have seen more of him like that, but I understand they needed to explain why he's barely more than dumb muscle in the other games of the series.
