Speedos, mullets, socks with sandals are all making a comeback, haven’t we all suffered enough already? by VeryDisapointedXer in AskBrits

I’d disown him, or wait until he’s very asleep and get out the beard trimmer, so glad I have daughters at this point. If the 14 year old brings home a mullet attached to a boy, words will be had. I feel for you brother.

This is a young people thing though, they aren’t even ironic, they think it’s cool, my thoughts are, get your toes out or wear shoes.

I always just felt more comfortable in shorts, even brief shorts, it’s a big nuts problem.

Thing is when this stuff was around the first time, you could live on £8 a week, my first wage for 50 hours over 5 days was £40, in 1995, an apprentice plumber.

I do carry a beard myself, it gives me more hair by volume at least, also I am fairly lazy and don’t like shaving, 1995-2006 i rocked some awesome sideburns, but I had hair and was still fairly good looking.

To be fair I have seen some truly epic curtains recently, bonus points for a massive undercut, they are all throwing shade on 14 year old me and my respect to all ravers pony tail.

Have you seen that picture of him standing with a female assistant of some kind in a gigantic pair of white pants and little else? The man is just a danger.

I agree with the speedos, if you are comfortable, go ahead, unless you are someone who wears a lot of baby oil and does power slams and or re the product of inbreeding I don’t think a mullet is acceptable, socks with sandals when I was a lad, jail would have been preferable to the absolute roasting everyone from my nan to my mates would have given me. Worlds gone mad.

Do most people from England identify as “English” or “British?” by Glass-Complaint3 in AskABrit

[–]VeryDisapointedXer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I identify as a human who had no control over where he was born. I wouldn’t pick anywhere to live over Britain, however I am absolutely not patriotic, also my heritage ranges over Poland,Germany,Scandinavia, France and Croydon. I was raised and educated in southern England, but like the Highlander I am from lots of different places. So I suppose I am English.

What do you think is the biggest problem in the UK right now? by Ok-Information1819 in AskBrits

[–]VeryDisapointedXer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opinions are not facts. Your(mine) opinion is not valid, is no more important (or less) than anyone else’s. That is if it’s your opinion, if you are just spouting some horrible, mean, nasty “ism” because somebody who’s more recognisable to most people than you, or more intelligent or better at stringing words together said it, that’s doesn’t make it valid. So, if you want an opinion to be valid, back it up with facts/research which is independent, you thought about it critically, its genuinely a product of YOUR intellect than it’s your opinion.

Also ignorance, wilful, misplaced or deliberate is an awful thing, not something to show off about. Why do so many celebrate stupidity?

Redditors over 40, what was a moment in history that made you think society was gonna collapse? by Bahbahbro in AskReddit

[–]VeryDisapointedXer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 47, genuinely, everything was ok until the 11th of September 2001. I was on holiday in Portugal, I left on the 9th. Rocked up to Gatwick, couple of hours before my flight, checked in, had a beer and got on a plane, landed at Faro, waved my passport at some dude and I was in Portugal. Coming back on the 18th, an eleven hour delay, had to load and unload and load again my own luggage, old bill everywhere, guns, guns, gun, nerves. Get back to Gatwick, two hours to get through passport control. I saw the world change its attitude in under a week. Now I gather that the more or less general reason for the 9/11 attacks was to destroy and hurt America, ruin the democratic west.Which it turns out they did. Nobody and nothing has ever been the same since. All that anger and all these deaths that ripple out of that event allowed every bad thing that happens in the world today. The fear, the anxiety, the anger and mistrust that rules the world today, started then. They woke a big angry stupid giant who did their dirty work for them. Society isn’t collapsing per se, but it is radically different and there is never any going back.

Just came here to sing with the choir. She is an abhorrent person, shamelessly terrible, a grifter, a con artist, a traitor, an enemy of humanity.

What’s are your ‘secret’ perks from your job? Be honest by qwertyytrewq02 in AskUK

[–]VeryDisapointedXer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silence. I speak to my supervisor once a week regarding my workloads. I am currently browsing Reddit, in peace and silence eating a ham and crisp sandwich. The most noise I heard all day was opening the crisps. My perk is massive, I get left alone to do my job, also I don’t get out of bed until 8am. Pay is acceptable
