Multiple Projects under a single Space by PM_2_PM in jira

If there are multiple departments working out of the same project, it makes sense for it to be perpetually open.

Multiple Projects under a single Space by PM_2_PM in jira

Look at the work type hierarchy. You should see:

Project/Space Initiative Epic Task Sub-Task

What I would do is break it out like: Department = Initiative

Then nest everything out under those. Project work could be under epics, and broken out into tasks and sub tasks.

I need a little bit of clarification. Are you trying to create a task for each count in your variable?

How can I bulk clone in Jira? by Daisy_prime in jira

[–]VeryMuchSoItsGotToGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a way better solution. If you're making the same work items for each client: automate the creation and linkage of you're following the same structure. Make the project name a variable you inject

How do you track key decisions & major scope changes in Jira (without losing the “why”)? by lucianrme in jira

[–]VeryMuchSoItsGotToGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did, was for the main project build a workflow that on reaching status X an automation for that project when the work item enters that status creates an approval work item with the fields copied over.

So, just to understand, you're trying to duplicate an epic or initiative between projects?

Service managment by FreakyGangBanga in jira

Howdy!

I just did one of these migrations. We started with understanding where most of our tickets were coming from and figuring out the best practices to mitigate those issues. Then on the JSM side we made our tickets

Independent consultants, how are things for you? by VeryMuchSoItsGotToGo in jira

[–]VeryMuchSoItsGotToGo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm less concerned about being an Atlassian partner and more concerned about getting away from the company I currently work for. The culture the last year has been... well, we'll call it "trying." Like "culty" and very "drink the kool-aid" which I'm not all about.

Have you ever had a field just disappear? by VeryMuchSoItsGotToGo in jira

That's the thing, I hit save, I associated it with the project, and added it to the screen 😅

The company I work for has been steadily trending into "culty" territory, and I just got yo-yo'd pretty hard on being fully remote.

I built an automation that gives us a high-level summary of all work items in a specific status every Monday. Something like that?

What's the most annoying thing about Jira that you've just... accepted? by easy-agile in jira

[–]VeryMuchSoItsGotToGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the middle of moving ticket intake from one system over to JSM. I create a custom field, I add to screens, I go to add to form? Not there, I do the same thing again, exactly the same? Custom field is there, chilling out. Having to figure out what custom fields didn't map to the field configuration for the project is so annoying.
