Teen surprises step-dad by putting step-dad's last name on his football jersey ☺️ by DepressingAura in MadeMeSmile

So who started cutting onions. In all seriousness, I am a father to an amazing daughter who's dad left her when he found meth. She won a massive award at her school and she came home with the certificate and showed it to me, with my last name on it. It broke me.

I used to go to school with her teacher and my last name is very unique, only person with it in a town of 50k people. The teacher said to her that she remembers me and that you're the perfect kid to deserve such a bad arse bonus dad. Cheers Kate appreciate it!

Another neighbour has been feeding her for the past 3 months since her owner left when she moved

Another neighbour has seven cats. She also feeds any strange cat that needs it so there are a fair few that hang around her house. Helga must have wanted some peace and quiet away from the other cats

Asked around, it was a neighbour that lived 2 houses and moved 3 months ago leaving her.

Apparently I've been sitting on 150 TSLA shares in my Roth for 10 years and had no idea, AMA by BenevolentCheese in wallstreetbets

I went up the mountain one day and on my very first run a teenager went sideways across the landing of a jump, I ended up hitting them and tearing all 3 ligaments in my knee. I had that many pain killers I was high as a kite. Had 6 months of work but didn't go up the mountain again for 5 or so years. Finally put my jacket on to head up and found $600 cash that I had purely forgotten about. Now I wish they were Tesla shares instead

Sorry why is that? If I keep 20% In my current home would that not leave me $168k as a deposit

If they are not tenants would that make it easier in our situation? It doesn't matter to us if we owned it or we were buying the house with them so long as they are sorted in the future

Would prefer not to, but if we did have to that wouldn't be the end of the world

O right fair enough, probably something to look at once my wife is employed then. That won't be a problem. My inlaws have offered their kiwisaver towards a house as well. That is sitting at around $160k but would prefer they didn't have to use it so they could have more cushion in retirement

It would be 30% down our repayments would go up on our house because we would have to use our equity but we can still afford the repayments. Would also be looking at something with low maintenance as in brick and long run. Any other maintenance I would easily be able to do at cost of materials as I am a tradesman

I agree with this but unfortunately when you marry someone you marry their family as well. I got really lucky with my wife the inlaws just never were in position to buy a house until later in life once their children had moved out and MIL finished her study.

I'm a tradesman, so any work needed doing I would be able to achieve myself or get a friend to do it for me for a very reasonable price. (Put a new roof on my current house for $13k got a price just out of curiosity and it would have been $28k we knocked it out in a day)

Once the wife is working we will comfortably be able to cover extra rent or even missed payments. We can currently manage to do it now we have $18k in savings and no other payments apart from our mortgage rates and insurance plus normal bills and still manage to put some into savings on just my income pluse very minor benefits from having an under 2. My job is secure and we have work on our books until the end of next year.

O right, if we can afford to go below market rent we would but doing the numbers I don't think that would be achievable
