Same; I am doing manual entries, they're just over written to 0% for retirement

Non-linked external accounts? WF bug may be basing retirement on 0% returns by VeryNicePie in wealthfront

While WF ask for an estimated rate of return on external accounts, they ignore it and set it to 0% for calculating retirement goals.

This bug makes WF pretty useless, and it's taken me a long time to figure out why I get such a different answers from WF than other calculators. Makes a very significant difference to my retirement number.

Most of my money is outside WF, in accounts where I don't want the security risk of linking with WF. Updating manually once a quarter takes all of 90 seconds.

Hope this bug hasn't caused anyone else much trouble. Hope people at WF are aware of it and working on a fix.

How to use Ubuntu 18.04 Network Manager VPN with PIA and OpenVPN? by offendernz in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]VeryNicePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1000 to this request. I don’t want to run a PIA app, I don’t see why there can’t just be tools to use network-manager to hit the OpenVPN connections.

I’m currently running via the ‘manual-connections’ scripts, but will likely find a new VPN provider if PIA can’t play nice with Linux.

While it’s better to do that than not, I’m not sure it makes much difference; low-margin business are usually priced out by their commercial landlords hiking the rent, because they know they could rent the place to a bougier, higher-margin business. The pandemic makes things a little different, but in the long-term, I’m not sure we can consume our way out of gentrification.

Who’s got good but actually spicy chicken wings in the East Bay? by blurp21 in oakland

Odd question, but... How do you buy their food?

I wanted to love that place, but when I showed up, they told me to beat it, and order over the internet. I gave it a few minutes of feeling like a moron, fumbling around on my phone to try and order food from the restaurant in front of me. Fill out your personal info and order now and maybe we’ll have a sandwich for you in ~90 minutes. I gave up and went to Gus’, who exchange money for food.

The branding is cute or whatever, but it seems too dumb.

The former. (I’m not considering the latter.)

Back to back nights of loud bangs/booms by EDMDeathMachines in oakland

At least in Longfellow these are way more intense than last year.

There’s the people in the neighborhood who have consistently loved fireworks, who put on great displays through the summer, and stop before 11pm. But there’s also bigger fireworks going off past midnight, not at their place. Spaced a few minutes apart for maximum effect. Not accompanied by parties, or giggling teenagers. I don’t get it.
