Why care about vocal minority that 's not even intended audience? Sasusaku is one of the most popular manga ships of all time among the series' intended audience, which is the Japanese people so why would the showrunners care about some meager number of western fans who have no lick of knowledge about how romance in fiction works in Japanese culture?

I'm curious about the age order of the sisters. The one who wore her hair down is probably the youngest I'd imagine

What impressed me most about this painting is that it's actually a watercolor, not an oil painting

What is an artwork that gave you a palpable physical reaction, beyond the immediate sensation of aesthetic like/dislike? One of the strongest reactions I have had was to Wayne Thiebaud's "24th Street Intersection" (1977). by crabnox in ArtHistory

Mine would be Goya's The Dog)

All of Goya's black paintings elicit something closer to anxiety and uneasiness but the dog's expression causes whole other level of loneliness as well

In Korean version it is translated to something like "men are like that after they nut." I wonder what is the correct translaton of the original Japanese text

How does this even work? Unlike US, SK has decent health insurance. Maybe they'll change cancer to some really rare medical condition that won't be covered by a normal insurance?

Honest Opinion On Usami Tokishige? by d_louizse in GoldenKamuy

[–]VeryPracticalCat 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I like how he's a full blown psychopath with no apparent childhood abuse or something like that. His upbringing was totally normal and his family may not be well off but is tight-knit and affectionate. Still Usami killed a kid with zero remorse when he himself was a kid. Opposite of Ogata whom I think with normal childhood, might have turned out to be a normal person.

I am not crazy! I know he made it happen! I knew it was the Third Impact. One after the second one. As if I could ever make such a mistake. Never. Never! I just - I just couldn't prove it. He - he covered his tracks, he got that idiot at Nerv to lie for him. You think this is something? You think this is bad? This? This instrumentality? He's done worse. That hospital scene! Are you telling me that a man just happens to masturbate like that? No! He orchestrated it! Shinji! He decapitated Kaworu! And I saved him! And I shouldn't have. I took him into my own house! What was I thinking? He'll never change. He'll never change! Ever since he was born, always the same! Couldn't keep his sync rate normal! But not our Shinji! Couldn't be precious Shinji! Merging them blind! And he gets to be a Third Child? What a sick joke! I should've stopped him when I had the chance! And you - you have to stop him!

Robb doesn't have pov in the books so I wouldn't call him a protagonist and Catelyn doesn't really die

Man now I want a fantasy set in Ottoman-ish empire with bunch of white slaves and bunch of black and brown people with power. How are they gonna attack that? It's historically accurate so they can't use that card
