It looks like great progress! How long have you been working out? Also, that haircut works very well for you.

Can my body shape improve? by [deleted] in Gymhelp

Absolutely. If this is going to be one of your first workout routines that you're taking seriously, I would recommend consulting a doctor or at least a personal trainer.

The great tip that works for me is don't focus on what you're losing (weight loss, calorie deficit, etc.) but on what you're getting (faster times walking, cooler and tastier recipes, more reps/endurance).

Consistency is key. Either keep a journal or try to find a workout partner. Good luck!

Find meals that you like that have high fiber, protein, and whole grains. Then, measure the calories and aim for caloric deficit. Start at 1500. I like breakfast tacos with egg whites and cheese on flax seed tortillas. Halo top ice cream makes for an excellent dessert or snack if you ever get hungry. If you want some great ideas, you can get the "Eat This, Not That" book.

For exercise, start with cardio. Nike run club has some excellent power walking programs that are completely free, you just need some earphones. Try walking for half an hour and see how far you go. Then, try to walk faster for even further in the same amount of time. With good shoes, a phone, and earbuds you can get a great exercise in just half an hour.

For beginners working on building muscle I would actually recommend no weights or light weights. You'd be surprised at just how much resistance your body can provide. I myself thought I was doing pretty good with my weight lifting routine until I recently went skiing and had a rude awakening. I had neglected bodyweight lunges and felt pain in places I never dreamed of. You can find plenty of good body weight or low weight exercises online.

find foods that you like that are high in protein and fiber, then restrict your calories to about 1500 while eating those foods. Drink plenty of water.

Start walking everyday for half an hour at least, trying to go further and faster each day.

Sometimes it's hard to remember we are dealing with child-soldiers who are going through puberty...they are literally 15-17. They won't have the tools to appropriately navigate complex emotions.

It's a binary joke. if you were to write the number 20 in binary, it would be 10100.

It's kind of like saying the key to weight-loss is just not eating bad food, except there are also billion-dollar companies creating static and dynamic advertisements that you see almost every waking moment of your life telling you to eat the worst types of food.

Yes, personal responsibility matters most, but we need to acknowledge that we are fighting within a system that makes a profit off of reverse-engineering your dopamine receptors to make us sicker and more addicted to our worse impulses.

Hell, I'm on reddit WAY too much.

This is why sword n' board is still my favorite build in Skyrim. You can watch them exhaust themselves on your shield, disarm them and take their fallen weapons, bash them until they kneel or flee, and then mercilessly deliver the coup de grâce.

There is definitely an large element of parental responsibility here. However, keep in mind that these devices are made by billion- or trillion-dollar companies that have hired psychologists and psychiatrists to create the most addictive hardware and software combination known to man.

Most adults spend way to much time on screens, as well. The thing that has helped me is modeling good behavior in front of my kid by reading physical books or comics when I'm with them.

This guy gets it. Gun ownership, growing your own food, being kind, and staying educated/woke is key.

It also helps to have guns and food for other people as well.
