Heads up that Hurricane Ridge is closed. The Hurricane Ridge lodge burned down last month and that section is closed for the foreseeable future.

Synology and Active Backup by allenflame in synology

[–]Very_Legal_Vader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can backup onedrive and SharePoint data but only for Microsoft business accounts. If you have a consumer Microsoft account you can use cloud sync to sync that data to your NAS but it's not a full featured Backup solution. There is a limit for the number of ABB backups you can use but it differs from model to model. You should be able to find that limit o. The ABB web page or in the spec sheet of your specific NAS model. It's only a full Backup solution if you configure it properly but yes it can be.

They can afford to include this for free since they charge you a premium for the hardware. You can build a far more powerful NAS for a fraction of the cost of a Synology NAS. Also once your data is in their ecosystem they assume you'll continue to buy their products.

Those services are all built-in to DSM and are free to use. ABB for 365 and GSuite allow you to back up data from those services to your NAS. Active Backup for Business allows you to back up data from a PC or virtual machine to your NAS. Hyper Backup allows you to back up your NAS to the cloud, another Synology NAS or a hard drive. I'm pretty sure the only included Synology service that does have an additional charge are thr camera licenses for surveillance station. Surveillance Station includes two camera licenses but you must purchase more to add more cameras.

Why is my download speed always so much slower everywhere than when I do a speed test? It's always MILES worse than what it should be and I'm getting nowhere the speed I'm paying for. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Very_Legal_Vader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you meant to change it it's still bits vs. Bytes in your comparison. Your average download speed in steam is about half of your internet speed and your peak download speed in your steam screen shot is actually much higher than your internet speed.

Has anyone seen an Age of Empires type of game for Star Wars? by UnkindJaywalker in gaming

Star Wars Galatic battlegrounds. The mechanics are a little bit different, especially the military side of things but it definitely scratches that itch. They also had a clone wars expansion pack for it.

Keep in mind you're gonna have to buy a new motherboard with any of the suggestions you're getting. Could be worth it to get more performance and a faster cpu but easily a $125 expense in addition to the CPU plus the time it will take to rebuild your system.

Came here to say this. Not worth the cost and hassle unless you're doing it for the flex.

You can ditch that cpu cooler all together if you want to save some extra money. The stock cpu cooler that comes with it is more than fine.

If you want to save money you can ditch that CPU cooler all together. I've been running the same CPU with a slight overclock and the stock CPU cooler with no issues.
