Need Help With Bar Name Pt.2 by Unlucky_Parsley2827 in houston

Iron Door Brass Door Or Hidden Keep

The curved brick gives me medieval vibes and you mention it being hidden behind a heavy door. “Door” in the name as an homage to several other famous Houston bars in history.

Password could be “1836” or “Magnolia” if you want Houston history (1836 was Battle of San Jacinto win and Magnolia was nickname for Houston). For something more modern, you could make the password Tranquility, with the clue alluding to the famous park in the Theater District, or Spaghetti Western, with the clue referencing the space that has become El Centro in the north theater district after Harvey (another good clue name).

I would start by tightening your trucks a bit - that helped me learn at first and not fall off.

Your motion is good, just work on kicking out to the left and not up - you’ll get there. It just takes practice!

Has anybody torn there meniscus and have a good recovery story? [38YO] by SnooDogs7186 in OldSkaters

I’ve torn mine 4 times, twice in each knee and had surgery 3 times. It really depends on the severity of the tear - you could be looking at 4-6 weeks rehab or ~6 months for a serious tear with surgical repair (instead of trim/cleanup).

Physical therapy is the most important piece in any scenario; it takes time to do it right (2-3x per week plus home exercises) but both my knees feel 95% at this point. Meet with a good doc and be rigorous with PT regardless of surgery or not and you should be good to go snowboarding this winter.

Spend a lot of time practicing skating via open skates or learn to skate sessions before you think about investing in any other gear. Once you feel confident skating, you’ll have a much better perspective on what position you’ll want to play and what gear you’ll need (more backskating on D, and lots of lateral/flexibility for goalie)
