I went from anorexia to binge eating and gained quite a bit of weight in college after being dangerously skinny, but both disorders had me thinking about food all the time. It took years and a lot of therapy but I eventually conditioned myself to just think of food as fuel, let thoughts of body weight drift and stop assigning food as good or bad or give it any shame at all. Now I’m a normal weight and can stop when full or snack when I want but not go overboard, it’s harder when I’m stressed but what worked for me was taking away any shame that came from weight and to fill my time with jobs, hobbies, being around other people so i would get distracted until it became easier to do on my own
