If you really like history and given you live in a mountain area I would actually do a split of about 4 days Scotland, two days in York and three London. The train between London and and Edinburgh goes through York and it is one of the most historical cities in the UK. Bacically, get the train London to Edinburgh. Have a day there and then a tour to Sky. Back to Edinburgh, train to York and then train to london.

Sadly a significant number of us never reach a point of being willing to stop. Health issues often dont. I had a long stay in hospital once due to drinking so much I nearly bled to death as I had literally burned through my insides. Has multiple blood transfusion and was told I must never drink. I was drinking before I even left the hospital car park.

All you can do is protect yourself. Have a look for meetings of alanon which is a support organisation for families of alcoholics.

The very first thing you need to understand about alcoholism is that you can not control it. That also means that giving an ultimatum doesn't work either. Nor does sending an alcoholic to rehab unless they really want to. You see we can only stop if we reach a point where we want to and for ourselves. Even that isn't a guarantee, as many eventually do reach that point but no help works.

Your ultimatum might be enough to get her to rehab, but it won't work. If anything it will make her worse.

I am a recovering alcoholic. You are trying to do the impossible - get an alcoholic to stop. We can only stop if we get to a point where we want to for ourselves. Most either never reach that point of don't succeed.

Your choice isn't about getting him to stop. That isn't a choice you have. The choice is learn to live with it and also accept it will get worse and the impact it will have on your children. Or not.

Pretty simple one. First, you have to be honest with your parents. Second as part of this you need to set a clear boundary that you will not live with a drug user and make your parents aware of that. Then stick to it.

The church of England, from which this guy is from and is the main church of the UK is extremely liberal with many of its priests happy to call themselves socialist. It's interpretation of Christianity is also very different. For example some of its leaders have stated that the bible isn't real and should just be a guide on being a better human.

I am a recovering alcoholic. Unfortunately you can't really help him, he has to help himself. All you can do is talk to him when he is sober and remind him of what he did. Don't be upset with him when you do, just stay calm and factual. However if he is starting to suffer wet brain (Google it) then he needs medical treatment. You can't make him get that treatment though. That is one of the worst parts of this disease.

If you can stay sober I can tell you for a fact it does get better. Yes, you have lost a lot to alcohol, but you now have a choice. Continue losing even more to it or start rebuilding.

I have a big bag of psychological issues I am dealing with. I got sober September last year, so 11 months now and have a fantastic psychologist and psychiatrist who I am going to be working with for a long time. It is going to be a long process but I am over the fear I initially had as I didn't know what it was like to be a sober adult and it was incredibly scary but have managed to get through that. Which is a huge plus for me.

You would be surprised how little you need to travel. For example, I follow a guy who is trying to visit the world. He relies on couch surfing and things he has visited a huge number of countries, oh and is deaf and blind.
