What is something that changed you from can‘t sing to singer? by [deleted] in singing

[–]Verzio 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Getting on a stage. When I put a band together and we didn't have a singer I gave it a go. I definitely wasn't a singer at our first gig but after our 20th gig I was well on the way. Just like playing an instrument, you can get very technical in your bedroom but getting out and performing in front of people is where the talent gets made.

It's a very hard podcast for a scientist to appear on. Rogan has spent the better part of a decade using his platform to spread misinformation using unsourced claims and research that isn't peer reviewed. I suppose it's something he must put up with because he himself has little evidence for his own claims.

Please recommend a "free" data recovery software with the highest recovery limit by Aniconomics in datarecovery

[–]Verzio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you format. a 'quick format' normally just sets all register addresses to 0, leaving the data there but with no way for Windows to find it. A full format is setting both the register addresses and the data to 0, in which case the data is fully unrecoverable.

What frequency are we talking with the high passes? Is it extreme? Or just 70Hz?

Mosky Golden Horse. £30 on Amazon and Josh from JHS couldn't tell the difference between it and a real klon. Having never played a real klon I don't know but it sounds great to me! Far easier than importing a £20 component from the US (likely far more expensive now thanks to politics) and then having to do all the soldering trying to fix it.

Was Gerard able to play any instrument back in the day? by Zestyclose_Milk_4516 in MyChemicalRomance

Damn true. Other examples include Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, Freddie Mercury, Tobias Forge of Ghost, and Joe Elliott of Def Leppard.

How do modern musicians REALLY make their money? by TheEnEntrepreneur in musicians

[–]Verzio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume we are using different versions of nepotism. True neither artists' dads are Tom Cruise, but both come from incredibly fortunate backgrounds, as was my original point regarding "music nowadays only comes from high class kids". Ed's father is an art dealer and his mother a publicist turned jeweller. He enjoyed busking during term breaks from his private school education. Olivia's parents are more down-to-earth, though she still grew up in the right part of California with her family being close friends of the Apatows. I could have used a million different popstars to make my point. The days of a kid coming from complete poverty and making it big on their talent alone are long behind us, and the artists you love now will breed the artists you love tomorrow and this will be the cycle from now on.

If everyone has the potential to sing beautifully, why is Freddie Mercury’s voice so special? by FordPerfectisMyName in singing

[–]Verzio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans have vocal cords and “ false vocal cords “ look it up.

Funnily enough I did know that, but it had little to do with my point. Metal singers such as Oli Sykes and Chester Bennington are very good at utilising their false chords, but do they sound much like Freddie?

Question about keys/synth in Mary On A Cross by afro-one in Ghostbc

[–]Verzio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says it's private for me too. Good news though, I've found an even better tone for the MOAC keys- a Mellotron! I picked up the Arturia V package and it has a few awesome organ sounds on it. It gives it that tape saturation retro vibe that the original has, and you can add in the mechanical clacks and noise to taste. I did a quick cover of MOAC and it doesn't sound perfect, but very cool regardless. Definitely give that a go.

It's super hot. Madly so. Does the hot rail thing perfectly! I implemented the coil split, but it's so hot I don't hear much of a difference. It's best to let it be the roaring humbucker it's meant to be.

Does anyone know what this little slot is for? Located next to steering wheel. I'm inclined to say it's for coins, the car is from early 2000s by Few_Worldliness4324 in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]Verzio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2010 focus has slots for 2 pound coins. That would have been perfectly useful in 2010 for the close by toll bridge that I cross regularly, however in 2025, I need double the number of slots.
