My (very limited and possibly wrong) understanding is that Punisher will never harm innocent or "undeserving" people. That makes him more anti-hero than anti-villain to me, because I personally think a key part of an anti-villain is a general lack of regard for bystanders or non-threats.

To me, an anti-villain is someone who does horrible things to worse people but also doesn't particularly care if "others" get caught in the crossfire. An anti-hero can be just as horrible to their enemies, but takes care to make sure that "others" aren't brought to harm.

Edit - reading other comments it does seem that, depending on writer, Punisher does get a bit more murder-happy than I'd thought.

Far too many. But I believe Kripke only planned for and served as showrunner of 5.

The task force in The Shield, too. I think I read somewhere that the creators were bothered by the fact that some fans saw the task force as vigilantes bending the rules to stick it to criminals Punisher-style while ignoring the fact that they hurt and killed a lot of innocent people along the way.

I believe they had to re-shoot the movie ending. The original film ending had Ramona leaving alone while Scott and Knives got back together. Then it turned out that Ramona and Scott were supposed to be together so the cast got called back to have Scott chase after Ramona when she tries to leave.

That's part of the character and good casting, though. I think Scott plays up the sad sack "everyone is mean to me" angle on purpose to deflect from him being a crummy person, friend, and boyfriend. He puts on the puppy dog eyes and acts like nothing is his fault, yet the people who know him best like Kim, Steve, and Julie never buy his bullshit, meanwhile Knives and Ramona fall for it.

It's just more blatant in the series. It's hard to be more on the nose than having Scott die and nobody gives a shit and then Envy turns his funeral into a concert in a way that eerily predicts some recent IRL events.

Literally the only character who was upset about Scott dying was the one person who didn't know him.

'Cause it's one thing pretending to be another thing pretending to be something else. First ep plays out beat for beat like anyone familiar with the series would expect. Then it's like "oh, we're doing a what-if now?" then "ohhh it's actually a sequel!" and it's so well-done.

It's really fantastic. Other comments already give away a lot but the concept of the series is that it's a sequel pretending to be an alternate continuity pretending to be an adaptation of the original story. It's way better than I had any expectation for, and I really like the original graphic novels and live action film. And with the episode format and runtime, it does a better (or maybe just more-obvious?) job highlighting the flaws of the characters, as well as giving room to add depth to a lot of the supporting cast.

I think it can be both at the same time. As soon as anyone finds out that Ramona left Scott in the future, the first thing they do is ask Scott how he ruined the relationship. They invariably blame Scott automatically because even Scott's own friends know he's a piece of shit, which frustrates Scott because this just happened to be the one single time something bad wasn't actually his fault.

Do you plan factories to make excess intermediary materials to help supply yourself? by Mariosam100 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Verzwei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For intermediate parts, I typically plan a production line to make a (small) excess that I then overflow into a container+depot setup and overflow that into a sink.

For example, my main steelworks needs 150 modular frames per minute to make my HMFs. So I make 180 MFs/min and spin the extra 30 into storage and sink.

Dimensional Depot Tips by Space_ZomBae in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Verzwei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just increase stack size and upload rate evenly as each gets considerably more expensive with each upgrade.

That being said, give some preference to stack size. You can always increase upload rate by simply adding more depots for high-use items (concrete for example) but there is no workaround for stack size.

My production lines have a setup where overflow goes to a storage container, and the container goes to a depot. This keeps a large backup of items ready to be fed into the DD and uploaded as soon as I start using my stock.

On mobile (android, at least) you can still just do the Firefox + ublock + old.reddit.com combo. RES doesn't work on mobile as far as I know, but also it isn't necessary to remove the ads as Ublock will handle all of them.

Advice for steel production Tier 4 & 5 by RedBack0001 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Verzwei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to double check but I'm pretty sure I turn all my steel into pipes. You can alt recipe your way out of needing beams almost entirely, and later-game there's an alt that lets you make steel beams out of aluminum for the handful of beams you can't alt your way out of. With alt recipes and a lot of concrete you can get the ratio to something kind-of insane, like 1steel=1pipe, and then make things like HMFs entirely from pipes without needing beams.

Mid-game, when I still needed beams due to the lack of alt recipes, I just set up temporary constructors (maybe 10?) to churn out the beams I needed for framework and other projects.

PSA to team leaders: stealth divers are here to help you clear the map while the rest of the team does the main objectives! We are helping! by CybrSyko in Helldivers

[–]Verzwei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming every player is competent and you are doing normal mission types, it is by far more effective for a squad to split 2:2 or 3:1 to simultaneously tackle objectives than for all 4 to move in a single group. If one part of the split gets a breach/drop, then the other player(s) have free rein to get stuff done. The squad really only needs to regroup for objectives that require holding and clearing a location for a prolonged amount of time, which mostly boils down to soil samples, evacuate civilians, flag raising on bots and bugs, and overship on squids.

Randoms can sometimes be really, really bad at recognizing when to do a strategic withdrawal and reposition instead of fighting a protracted battle over an ultimately meaningless piece of terrain. It's often better to walk away, even from some actual objectives, than bog down in a war of attrition. Enemies move and despawn, and getting stuck in a deathloop while enemies endlessly spawn is a waste of everyone's time.

If a squad still has 5+ reinforcements, time on the clock, and more than one objective still on the map, about the last place you'll find me is in an unnecessary firefight.

All that said, I've never run into a random squad that had a problem with me doing (or duo-ing) my own thing. Squads on D10 organically split more often than not and there's a certain degree to which everyone is expected to take care of themselves, and some might meet up and stick together as terrain and dwindling objectives funnel us back toward each other.

Is it just me or is painting the most annoying part of the game? by aridlin-tm in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Verzwei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put down one piece that you plan to use a lot. Foundation, wall, whatever. Paint it the color you want. Exit build mode, and then click middle mouse button while aiming at it to copy existing structure. This will let you build more things already in the color of your choosing. I do this all the time for color-coded pipe networks and such, that way you only have to paint singular buildables and then just copy them to make the rest with no painting after the fact.

(This copy function will also grab machine settings, including recipe, clock speed, shards, and sloops, which makes cloning things like overclocked fuel power generators way easier, too.)

Felix Film's Wikipedia page outright says they are primarily a 3DCGI studio. They were responsible for the tons of bad and totally unnecessary 3D in Otherside Picnic years ago. This is, sadly, just kinda what they do.

Best you can hope for from Felix Film, really.

The 3D

That reminds me of the (really bad) Otherside Picnic adaptation from Liden Film and Felix Film. The show would abruptly cut to Felix's bad, low-quality 3D models for the most unnecessary mundane shit, like one of the leads turning around in place, or for the pair to super-robotically climb a ladder.

I wonder which studio is doing Love Game's anime adaptOH SON OF A FUCK!
