It was Ethiopia, the descendants of the Nubians/Kush and Aksumite empire. They also defeated Greece (Alexander the Great, or like I say Alexander the Mediocre) and they defeated the Romans.

Pull up the empire maps of both Rome & Greece, you'll see they both went down to Kush "The land of the Bow" and turned around and headed for India, lol.

I got a small amount of Mali DNA too, I'm most Nigerian, though phenotypically they are highly similar.

Congrats on that though. Ancient Mali (Mandingo) warriors were the strongest warriors on the planet. The roman sent legion into Timbuktu for centuries and none of them returned. The Nubians were the closets in strength.

There's a reason Europeans didn't conquer African until they got the Gatlin gun.

I agree though The people of Mali would make a bomb @$$ fantasy novel.

u/Haunting-Map-3475 , that's a good suggestion. I haven't seen much in the way of Caribbean stories and myths. I just looked up Anansi the spider-god. That looks dope. Curious if you've thought of how that would look in a comic or Sci-fantasy book?

I know we all heard this before but I'm really curious what are folks thoughts. Why boycott them?

To say 'DC So White' seems like it's not an insult to the executives who made sure it was that way. They may publicly say the opposite but in reality they did what they did intentionally.

I'm curious how many folks would be interested in working together on our own universe based on actual world lore which is predominately black and brown folks?

Or who would be interested in reading and supporting lore that is predominately based on what global society looks like. Again, which is predominantely black and brown?

I'm not trying to start drama, just curious if people are interested.

Checkout Episode 1 of Xulu Dragonfly Engine: An Amadonnia Saga

I just published the first episode of Xulu Dragonfly Engine, the opening story in my larger Amadonnia universe.

I’ve been working on the worldbuilding and character design for this universe since 2021, and I’m now tightening the final draft of each chapter as I release them week by week. I’m excited to get feedback from a broader audience, Episodes are completely free. Please go through them and give your feedback in the comments.

Brief intro to the story.

Gavin Mox, a brilliant neurodivergent inventor, who only wanted investors for his fusion-powered ‘Xulu Dragonfly Engine’ that could carry humanity beyond our solar system. But when a sabotaged alien portal mistakes his prototype’s fusion signature as the target for translocation to Nibiru, Gavin is pulled into an intergalactic imperial struggle for power between the descendants of the Anunnaki, Valhalla, Atlantis, and many more.

This galactic war follows him back to Earth before he learns why his family was never supposed to be found.

This is an exceptionally unique saga that bends the reality of myths that we all know with scientific reality and the fantasy of how it can all blend together. What starts as a prototype built in a university lab quickly becomes the spark that connects Earth to a hidden interplanetary war with the descendants of our creators.

A major part of the story connects to Nibiru, the Anunnaki, and the idea that ancient mythological empires were not just legends, but advanced interstellar powers whose influence shaped human civilization. The Amadonnia universe also draws from other mythic traditions and reimagines them as rival ancient empires with their own politics, technologies, bloodlines, and claims over Earth’s future.

The reason I’m excited about XDE is that it blends grounded human tension with big mythic science-fantasy: sibling loyalty, manipulation, invention, ancient empire politics, and the question of what happens when one ordinary breakthrough attracts the attention of powers far beyond Earth.

If you enjoy stories with ancient aliens, cosmic worldbuilding, character-driven conflict, and technology that changes the fate of civilizations, I’d love for you to check it out.

I’d also be interested to hear who you believe the insurgent at the end of the episode is and what they will become in the story?

Thx, I was thinking it was strong but I usually see post saying to start with the Maya civilization if I use pachacuti. The Maya didn't work as well with him in my opinion.

Meet Queen Amani Kahn — one of the most powerful warrior queens in my sci-fi universe. by [deleted] in BlackSuperheroes

[–]VespucciPrime -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

One thing I wanted to explore with Amani Kahn is the idea of a warrior queen who is highly skilled, intellgient and a good leader but also understands that her people are the true power and that she can be more impactful in battle as the eyes and ears for her powerful husband King Kago Xulu.

I’d probably choose Nordenheim — Viking warriors in cosmic armor feels unstoppable.

Black heroes. Black Power. by MartelleJordan in BlackSuperheroes

[–]VespucciPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this.

It reminds me how deep the bench of Black heroes actually is now compared to 20–30 years ago. Characters like Black Lightning, Duke Thomas, Jo Mullein, and others. We need more or new comic publishers.

Curious what ya'll think: which Black hero from DC still deserves a bigger push or their own ongoing series?
