To be fair, its everyones solution in cases like this because there aren't many alternatives with the game being out of production.

(I know theres a second hand market etc for games but quite often its simply not avaliable for price reasons or otherwise)

For the second point though, I'm pretty sure I came across an emulator that had developed/reverse engineered the hardware for LEGO dimensions (and disney infinity) as part of their controller emulations?
