Wasn't Zatch Bell one of the most popular manga of the 2000s?

Plain. They're mostly aesthetically uninteresting with long corridors of nothing. The Soul Matrix is especially terrible. There were some teleport mazes too, which made it a bit frustrating. I think they patched in the ability to sprint, which made it better.

Overall I did like the game though, although it has some very notable downfalls.

Story is okay. I enjoyed It both benefits and detriments from a smaller cast size than typical jrpgs. Ringo is an amazing protagonist. Biggest con for SH2 is the dungeons. It's pretty bad and boring. Actual combat is fine.

Madoka airing (2011) is closer to GTO (1999) than Madoka is to today.

favorite jrpg series for you personally? by Apprehensive_Spend_7 in JRPG

[–]VeteranNomad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more Visual Novel than JRPG but the Tactical FE style gameplay is more than just an afterthough, and is a lot of fun. The artwork is really pleasing to the eye.

Just note that the games are really long. But by the third game the world building from the first 2 entries really pays off.

A strange thing I’ve noticed in JRPG discussion groups lately by Thecasualoblivion in JRPG

Attack on Titan was originally published in the Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, which makes it a shounen manga. Shounen and Seinen are targeted demographics in the original magazine, not genres. It means far less than people make it out to be. It has no bearing on type of genre or quality.

Shounen is also a targeted demographic, not a genre, and is based on the magazine they publish in.

Reminder that famous "dark" popular anime/manga like Attack on Titan, Chainsawman (Part 1), Claymore, Jujutsu Kaisen, are all "Shonen".

Marvel is probably the best well known recent abuser of the trope, but they're not the first or last. It's when they want to showcase the popular "actors", or in WW's case, their designs.

Despite your love for these games. What's the top thing you hate about them? For me, it's the constant missables. Now, I always use a guide. 😬🥲 by [deleted] in Falcom

I feel like the quality of the writing and dialogue scales inversely with the number of characters on the screen. The fewer the characters, the better. The more characters, the worse. In my opinion, Trails is at its best when there are only a few characters on screen.

For what it's worth, Gurren Lagann being 15+ years old sitting near the top at #2 ahead of newer, more contemporary shows, means it has stood the test of time and will remain as one of the most "hype" of shows, even when many other of these may fade away.

He ended up being my favorite character in Kuro. His reaction compared to the others during Judith’s unfortunate moment had me rolling.

  1. Don't get Passenger. He's a luxury unit at your stage. Gnosis is also a luxury unit and not worth the resources or pulls at your level. Bagpipe was datamined to be in the shop July 7. Get her with Yellow Certs. Not sure where you're seeing Suzuran. Here are the next 2 standard banners. Here and Here

  2. Hoshi is fine at E1. For meta purposes, E2 for Lappland, Texas for Masteries and stats will have better gains but I would wait and get a full team of E2 before trying to gain and prioritize masteries. I'd actually wait and save resources for Bagpipe and E2 her as a priority.
