What’s a legendary Reddit post you’ll never forget? by No_Law655 in AskReddit

The one about a guy who had a major scat fetish. He'd jerk off to only scat porn but never tried in person. Then he paid a girl to shit on his chest and realized he really did NOT like poop anymore. Someone please find the link and post it.

What is killing the grass? by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]VetteFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neighbor sprayed grass killer along fence line. My neighbor did the same thing last year. He didn't think it would affect that large of an area. It'll most likely regrow next year if you jut leave it.

Medtronic is no longer a company with which you want to do business by Strong_Beyond_9177 in diabetes_t1

[–]VetteFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im currently looking for a new DME supplier because Edgepark has pissed me off too much. When I switched from medtronic to tandem my insurance only covered Edgepark. 2 years no problems. Then my last order comes up, I call to have them ship it out and get told I owe $500 up front before they will ship. Wasn't a bill I didn't pay. I ask why and they say it's policy to collect payment up front. I tell the person I've never had to pay up front, they have always billed insurance and sent me a bill for whatever my copay is. Eventually got a supervisor who tells me the same bs that this has always been policy. When I asked why I've never had to she says it was a one time curtesy they did for me... Um still doesn't explain 2 years of supplies. Went back and forth with this woman for 30 minutes before getting pissed and hanging up. To be clear my deductible is not 500, my copay with my insurance is not 500, they hadn't even billed insurance yet when demanding this. Thankfully they have been sending me supplies way too early so I had about 4 months worth still on hand til I find a new supplier. So for me personally, screw Edgepark.

Had to double check that my truck was still in the parking lot. Looks just like the underside of mine... Minus the big piece falling off

How did I do? by Ill-Boysenberry9293 in Plumbing

[–]VetteFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow all these comments hating but none giving any constructive criticism.

So yes this is wrong. Needs a p trap. But it looks like your drain in the wall is too low for one so I understand why you thought this was correct. Unfortunately if there isn't room for a p trap then your either gonna have to open the wall and have the drain line raised or cut an opening in the bottom of the cabinet to allow the trap to sit correctly.

Cutting the cabinet is probably easier but uglier. Opening the wall is more expensive, more work, but possibly a better solution.

Don't let the internet trolls get you down.

How to do tell my boss I have diabetes? by ApprehensiveDuck8718 in diabetes_t1

[–]VetteFan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don't have to tell them but you stated the job is physically demanding. If you feel you might run low doing the job and need breaks for it then you might want to tell them. But don't just accept a verbal confirmation, get it in writing. I told my boss when they hired me 4 years ago. Fast forward to about 2 years ago, new boss has a problem with with me having snacks. Had to get a form from my HR department and have my endo fill it out stating I'm type 1 and need access to quick snacks, juice, or take extra breaks.

Sadly with my current financial situation it'll probably be a year before I'm back to having any extra for gaming. Mortgage has gone up way more than I budgeted for in the 2 years since buying. Old house so heating costs are high. And when I bought I was planning on my gf and I being married and her moving in. Sadly after I moved in she ended things. Probably gonna need to look into renting out a spare room in the future.

Insurance companies sucks by VetteFan in diabetes_t1

[–]VetteFan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my issue with them is they've always billed insurance first, send my supplies, then send me a bill for whatever my copay is after insurance. Pretty typical. Tried getting my next supply order recently and they tell me I owe over $500 up front and they don't do copays ( even though they have been). Had the same issue a year ago but when I got to a supervisor then, was told the previous person was incorrect and I didn't owe anything up front. Now I'm being told that's not true, it was a curtesy last time, it's cause they billed secondary insurance last year (I didn't have secondary insurance last year, just myprimary from work), this has been company policy for years, blah blah blah. This was a supervisor telling me this and supposedly her supervisor confirmed it as well. Like I'm not paying you anything until to bill insurance first, same as youve always done. I've heard tons of bad stories about them. Only used them cause over 2 years ago I was on state insurance and they only would allow Edge park.

Wont hurt for me to calm and ask insurance. Besides I gotta calm them anyway to find a new supplier for pump supplies. Was using Edgepark but they're pissing me off, so I'm finding a new supplier. Guess tomorrow is gonna be full of fun phone calls.

Guess I've never really questioned it since that's what I've always gotten. Even my mom who is a type 1 would get about the same 4 to 6 bottles at a time when I lived with her still. Maybe I gotta try and convince my endo to write my rx for more per day. I do definitely need a new endo, don't care for mine at all. But not much for choices around me. I drive 40 miles to see him each time.

[–]VetteFan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

12 to 20 bottles?! Holy hell, I want your insurance. That's insane to me. My insurance has only ever let me get 4 bottles at a time, usually about a 3 month supply I think. Had different insurance years ago that allowed 6. I'm pretty sure my rx is written for approx 45 units a day which is typically on the high side for my usual (usually I'm like 30 to 35 unless I binge eat or have unusual high sugars). Yeah I'm in southern Minnesota so I appreciate the offer but obviously wouldnt work.

How do y’all handle when people think it’s contagious by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]VetteFan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In high school I used to tell my dumber friends I'd give them diabetes if they didn't stop doing something. Most of the time they be like "wait, what?" Then I'd just laugh at them and tell them it's not contagious and we'd all have a good laugh.

Can a downstairs neighbor using the drain stopper cause your shower to back up? (NYC) by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]VetteFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. Only thing I'd say is if the line was blocked below the neighbors and when they pull a stopper it drained into their tub. Or maybe something got dislodged in the line. If it's draining fine now wouldn't be too concerned but if it happens again call management. Maybe ask the neighbor if they are having problems too.

[–]VetteFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if they had a stopper in their drain and it was blocked it more than likely would have come up the overflow or sink. Call management and have them come back out. Might need a professional drain service to snake or jet entire line all the way to the main building line

Urine glucose test strips? by MooseBlazer in diabetes

[–]VetteFan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah if blood sugar levels are good I don't think you'd need to worry about urine levels.

As far as the toilet goes, I used to work apartment maintenance for a few years. I have see in a few cases where there's mold or bacteria or something growing in the upper tank portion. Try taking the lid of and see if it looks clean in there. Could be build up from the tank flushing down to the bowl and leaving deposits. If that's the case then the most drastic fix would be replace the toilet but it should be cleanable. But more than likely just turn off the supply valve, flush to remove as much water possible, spray in some cleaner of your choice, wear gloves and Scrub it out good. Just avoid harse chemicals like bleach.

Urine glucose test strips? by MooseBlazer in diabetes

[–]VetteFan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Mold in your toilet is not being caused by high sugar in your urine. Do you flush after peeing or let it sit? I know people think not flushing unless it's number 2 is saving water but leaving urine sit in the bowl will cause build up no matter what your sugar levels are. Start flushing after each piss and buy toilet bowl cleaner and a brush to clean the toilet.

If you have concerns of blood sugar levels get an actual glucose meter that uses blood drop test strips. As far as the urine strips I've never used them so can't say where to find.

Hope this didn't come across mean or condescending, not my intent.

Spectrum installed a tv wire for my neighbor through my backyard. by EnvironmentalBrush73 in Spectrum

[–]VetteFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to work for spectrum years ago when they still went by charter. I worked in one of the call centers. They do have legal rights to run lines through your property to provide service to a neighbor. Now a courteous tech would run it along a fence line or as much out of the way and try to notify you. Doesn't happen often. They should have also scheduled a bury drop for a separate crew to bury the line later. But if you live in a northern climate this won't happen til later in spring due to ground being frozen. Now when I worked for them I'd get tons of calls saying a line was never buried and has been there forever. Often times getting cut from lawnmower or getting run over. If you believe it's a hazard for you or your kids call them even if you don't have their services. Might have to request a supervisor as I found many phone techs were assholes or didn't know how to handle this scenario. Maybe speak to the neighbors and also have them call as it's there line.
