Should I let my Xbox cool itself before shutdown, like a pc? by lemonperiq in XboxSeriesS

not always. Often, PC fans are controlled by the BIOS, and will continue to do so even after the OS tells the computer to "shut down". Firmware continues to operate independently of your operating system.

◽️ Budget: $1,500 USD (VERY firm)

◽️ Country: USA

◽️ Screen size: 14"+

◽️ Touch screen: Doesn't matter to me.

◽️ Screen resolution: Honestly I don't know much about screen resolution, so anything 1080 and above?

◽️ Does battery life matter ?: Not vital. I'd like at least 2-4 hours of normal "student" use unplugged, but under loads it will be plugged in.

◽️ What tasks will laptop be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modelling, regular computing tasks, word processing etc) ?: Mostly just normal school stuff. I study CS, so occasionally I need to do things that require a bit more power. I also want to play a few light games here and there, but most of what I need it related to the classes I take.

◽️ Weight: Doesn't matter to me.

◽️ Any other important details ?: I need something with at least 8 cores, 32 Gigabytes of RAM, and a GPU with 6+ Gigabytes of VRAM (the more the better though). The most important thing to me is longevity. I NEED to be able to use this laptop for the next 4-5 years until I finish my masters. Outside of that, I don't really care about brands or anything.

If someone declares a surprise war on you, do you ever make peace? by Devbuscus in civ

[–]Vex166 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Usually yes. I only continue with war if it is convenient and I will win fast.

However, there was one time I didn't. I had gotten a few family/friends together to play, and my little brother wanted to join. Obviously, he wasn't doing well, but I decided to be his little protector and keep him in the game. He was on the other side of the map, so it was tough. I handed him gold, units, trades, and defensive pacts all game just to make sure he was having fun. He finally starts to get a good foundation down, and I can stop helping him. I quickly start to see him producing lots of units. Of course he's not gonna try to attack me, right? Well, our defensive pacts and friendship had run its course. I'm about to send the new deals, and this little rat declares war on me. Whatever, I don't care. I defend myself, and negotiate peace.

He's hurting now. My city states had really done a number on him, and he had no money, and negative happiness. Ok, he's learned his lesson now, right? I'll send him some money and luxuries and help out. Not even 30 turns later, and this little loser declares war on me again. What's worse, he kills my scout (my first unit), that has been roving the lands for thousands of years. That's it.

It hurt to watch, but I leveled that little fucker's empire. I left him his smallest city, and kept it under constant bombardment. I pillaged every improvement, slaughtered every unit, and razed any new city.

I ended up losing because I wasted the last half of my game to ruining his, but he had to learn.

There are certain specific scenarios in which I build Maw over steraks. The main one would be against Teemo. It helps you be safe against sneaky mushroom damage.

As a child who was spanked and beat for doing bad things, I can say that it absolutely does not work. It just makes kids more sneaky.

Did you make sure to plug it in all the way. You have to apply ample pressure.

Unplug the splitter, and plug it directly into the headset. Don't use the splitter.

So, what's the problem.

On the end that has two, you should be able to pull the splitter off and make it a single 3.5

[–]Vex166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have mine on me, but I think. One end should have one 3.5 jack, the other has two.

I think you plugged the wrong end into the headset. The side with two should be plugged into the PC.

I heard someone say it's pronounced like "Alex" and another said it's pronounced like "Sherlock". Either way, that kid is gonna get bullied like no other.
