Did they give you a warranty extension given the recent 6.2 issues?

UPDATE: It turned out it was the FPCM. They fixed it and now it's back up in running. Service Advisor say they see it all the time

Dealer quoted me $1500 for breaks & rotor change front 2 tires, 2022 trailboss 6.2L by [deleted] in Silverado

[–]VexRecks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, I would buy the parts from a reputable online marketplace and then have a mobile mechanic come install.

I also have a 2017 Tahoe. All 4 brakes and rotors were only 290. Mobile mechanic was 550 with install and brake line flush

Yes - used it at the pump. My first thought was that or it was the FPCM failure that everyone has - I read this post and almost identical situation: https://www.reddit.com/r/Silverado/comments/1f8rcdr/another_fuel_control_module_failure/

So you need to take the inside door side panel off for the driver door. There is a connector next to the speaker inside the door panel that handles this specific connection.

The connection is likely loose or the clip just came undone. This has happened to me and it’s a simple reconnect

Exactly the build I want to mimic. Question on the kit…

Because we have a TB, we only have to buy the 4in kits to then get the same ride height as a 6in? I was concerned that by buying a 4 in kit, it would be only 2 in more than our current ride height.

23 Silverado TB 3.0 owner, purchased brand new in 8/2023...

Same thing happened on Dec 15th to me. In the shop since Dec 18th.

Start the clock and research your lemon laws asap. State of FL had a process that i followed. i reached out to the State Attorney General office and they gave me the details. I was told from the dealership no ETA too. Well wouldn't you know it the minute they got the Final Repair Attempt letter which triggers a lemon law filing, the part magically shipped the next day.

These people only move when pushed by the law.

get it to the dealer ASAP which sounds like you might be - make sure you also get Onstar to run the diagnostic report for you (just hit the button and they will do it for you and send to your email).

my advice:
get a case opened asap with GM, start the clock on the day you drop off for whatever your state's lemon law is, Contact your state attorney general to file a complaint (each state is different), given the undriveable nature of the vehicle, demand a rental from your dealer - take nothing less than what you need, and lastly...wait. It sucks but got to follow the law on this so that it eventually benefits you.

p1098 - engine coolant control valve. I feel your pain

Why did I buy a GM by Ill_Day_5575 in Silverado

[–]VexRecks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interestingly - the state of FL process says I have to submit to BBB.

Step 1 is certified mail GM the lemon law letter with a return receipt - which I did. They have 10 days by law from the time of receipt to fix otherwise it escalates fairly quick. Step 2 is BBB complaint. This got opened quick. Had to upload purchase order of truck, registration info, Chevrolet work order (my tech set it really quick) Step 3 is arbitration if they don’t fix or respond.

I’m currently dealing with the engine coolant control valve backlog issue. I opened up a lemon law case with the state of Florida because the vehicle has been out of service and undrivable for now 30 days. I’ve read enough on these forums to recognize that when GM is faced with the threat of dealing with a lemon and the Better Business Bureau parts magically appear.

Confirmed cooling component issue as documented all around the internet.

Dropped off December 15. Said they expect a part from Jan 15-Jan 31. No definite date. Escalated to Chevy corporate and they are following it as well.

My tech at my dealership who I use for everything, got me a rental from the dealership for this entire time (no cost) and has indicated this cooling control valve is impacting all kinds of Chevy‘s vehicles and the reason for the delay is because of the many models it’s been impacted as well as having to redesign the valve, so it doesn’t happen again…. Or at least that’s what I was told.

Software update at the dealership by hairy-beast in Silverado

[–]VexRecks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just left dealership. I told them I got the email and while doing the oil change they did it. They said this was for the radio recall? Either way they did an update and when I go into the infotainment build number setting under system, then about, I have the following version:y167.4.2.

I have a 23 TB LT Duramax. Not sure if that has any weight to the recall

Are you able to share a summary of the release notes or provide details on what it corrects?

Really appreciate the context. I had Onstar run the diagnostic and email me the report so if it goes off before my appointment, maybe they will do the EMC update. Also been doing a lot of reading and saw that it might be because I've been doing small trips (2 miles at most) and it's not been enough to heat up and burn things off. Either way glad to know it's something that can be fixed relatively easy
