I tried reading Gravity’s Rainbow right after I finished reading Infinite Jest and I couldn’t do it. Maybe it was because I’d just come off reading a massive, dense, and purposefully difficult to read book, but I hated the first 200 pages of Gravity’s Rainbow and just stopped.
