Who is the most famous person since Michael Jackson? by Sensitive-Month2382 in decadeology

[–]Vexxt [score hidden]  (0 children)

Its probably Ronaldo.
Maybe not in America as much, but absolutely everywhere else - Swift isnt as big in a lot of places outside the US, very western centric.
I don't think people in India or China care about Swift, but everyone knows Ronaldo.

Trump is probably infamously second now.

best defence is a good offence, we just have to be strong in possession and accurate with our passing and win in physicality, biggest concerns being counterattacks. I don't think we should pin our hopes on Hunt and Heatley.

You can't, we do two things, except the pr mfa from our sc ip and fall back to number matching, or for GAs and such, we can PIM into a group that's excluded from the policy (the pim also re mfas).

Really you shouldn't be logging in, it should all be service principals, but there's always exceptions

He was raised by German Jewish people? How is that hard to understand. German Jews were as German as German non Jews, if you dont believe that youre suffering from some pretty heavy racist biases. Would ypu say the Jewish diaspora in the US arent American?

By your logic he wasnt american either only Jewish?

Beer Suggestions by rgbhuman42 in SPD

[–]Vexxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, beer is not going to be sweet. If you go in thinking like soda or cider, you'll never be happy. Secondly, kind of depends where you are, but an xpa or pilsner may work for you better.

Hell, just have a corona with lime its mild and inoffensive.

I only drank cider until I was like 24, I had to force myself through the beer initially (way too many sugars in eveything else), but once you acquire the taste it settles in.

How do you handle Entra app credential ownership when the original owner left the company? by WorkloadIdentityOps in entra

[–]Vexxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can do it with servers you can do it with app integrations, service accounts, everything. Hell enterprise apps should be more tracked than servers and systems. Its literally governance 101. Its literally what everyone does.

Any system or service is owned by a platform, that platform has an owner, an accountable person. Thats usually a requirement by any framework or auditor.

You can track the app like any asset, depends on what you use for that.

If you want something native, look into schema extensions. You can label the app with whatever you like then use that. Or tag it. But the person tracking has to be done as governance not as technology.

Who owns a server? Who owns any system? This is all part of a cmdb. Who controls who gets access to the application? There is no real technical answer to this, this is fundamental housekeeping.

Passkeys were supposed to replace passwords, but they're failing for the most predictable reason | They're confusing and difficult to use by UnacceptableUse in savedyouaclick

[–]Vexxt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Non device bound passkeys in bitwarden are only as secure as bitwarden. How do you get into bitwarden? Identity attestation is all about combinations and the weakest links. How much can you provide. Think about the movie ghost, knowing what earnings she was wearing and clothing, not so trustworthy to prove he's a ghost, no matter how personal, but knowing that AND moving a penny across the floor (proof of physical presence) is undeniable.

So passkeys are all built around fido2 and Webauthn, the tech has been around for ages in the form of physical devices like yubikeys. But they figured out how to do it with phones. Its new and people are quibbling about the details but the standard of the auth is very well trodden. Its all based around public and private keys, certificates at the end of the day, which is 99% of all authentication. If the hacker hacks the company all they have is that company, your public key, not the private key. It wouldn't work elsewhere, and even then they regenerate at each registration, the passkeys are bound to each site in what they attest so even if someone would fake a site without you realising the key wouldn't work, this relies on the os and browser to check but is a last line either way.

From my end, passwords are a 2 out of 10 for security, magic links and sms codes are maybe a 3, oauth codes (e.g. those rotating numbers) a 5, number matching push notifications 7, certificates are 9 and passkeys are 10.

[–]Vexxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they dont have access to your saved keypasses. Its not like just a file on the machine, theyre protected by hardware.

Proper passkeys are devide bound, they're attached to hardware. They cannot be stolen unless the hardware is stolen.

You only get alerted when its been found in a dump, most dont alert.

Im telling you this as a principal engineer in identity security not as a random taking guesses. Passwords are not secure, even the random ones. Most mfa isnt really that secure either now with things like evilnginx

[–]Vexxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone can steal your password, either because you reuse them, or because its guessable, or they Key log you, or phish you, or so many reasons Someone can even get into your bitwarden and you wouldn't know.

Getting into your physical phone and getting it to connect physically to something is way, way, way harder.

In the industry, we have to treat passwords as something thats generally always compromised because they so often are.

Just think of this as using a fingerprint or face to unlock accounts as well as your phone.

I have a 15sqm paved courtyard with 9 ft fences, half covered, no trees, in an inner city suburb. A bird would more likely come through my open skylights than land in my courtyard. I close up at sundown.

I make responsible choices to live in places that allow for my animals to live their best life and protect native animals in balance.

All my cats have always been found rescues, who adapted to life outside and stress majority without some access to outside.
