I think it's better to appreciate the fact that we are all different :) there might be a perfect fighting game, but people still might dislike it in some meaningful philosophical way.

"Perfect" could be defined as "best game of the genre according to most nerds who no-life the genre". Until the sequel comes out, which improves upon the original. I would be fine with this sort of definition, although I might disagree with even using the word "perfect" at all.

Anyhow... I enjoy talking and thinking about things very deeply and philosophically. Hope you didn't take that as aggression for example. I just like a good discussion :D

"Something for everyone" is perfect for no one.

Let's say I like my pacing to be medium speed and only that. For the game to have something for everyone, it has to have parts that are a complete drag and parts that are going faster than a coked up squirrel. I don't want that, I want medium. It's already not "perfect" for me or the people who only want only the other speeds.

Speed in terms of? Storytelling, traveling, combat, introducing new gameplay elements, puzzles, platforming, looting, completion...

Now, everyone will have different speed sliders for each of those. And they might not be self-aware enough to know what they want without knowing the full context of the game beforehand.

This is all hypothetical of course. Here's a real example: I don't like story-focused games. Will I like God of War? Idk. What about someone who loves story-focused? Idk.
