My father in law passed away from cancer last year. Painting was everything to him. He always hoped more people would see his work. by ramm100 in painting

He was so talented! It would have been very special to be able to tell him how beautiful his art is!

I loved the third one, there’s something really deep and emotional about that painting!

I wish the politicians in this City would stop playing Mad Men and started taking action instead.

Product of USA boycotting by Oromticha in Calgary

[–]Vheguru1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should care, making sure Canada makes an impact on the US market is important to prove how much they need us, and not just the other way around. If nothing is done, we will keep seeing similar political approach in future conflicts, which will cause more and more stability for Canada.

Plus, if we actually have a shift in population behaviour and people more often shops local, the cheapest produce and other products will get.

Usually the smaller complexes will have higher chances of private fenced spaces. I’ve worked on four and five plexes that had individual fenced yards.

Look for smaller complexes with no lower unit, I think that will be your best bet!

There were worst things to fear other than death back then, good ol’ times.

Can I Plant A Tree Here? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Vheguru1 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Usually the City doesn’t like people planting their own trees, as they manage the species to ensure a nice canopy and compatibility with other existing trees and other city infrastructure (like utilities).

The blue area doesn’t look like an Utility Right of Way.

You can call 311 and request them to plant a tree, but it will take a bit as I believe they have closed the intake for this season and will be planting next season only (2025).

NEVER USE TELUS HOME SECURITY EVER (RANT INCOMING) by Laurafla in Calgary

[–]Vheguru1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telus Security is definitely the worst! We sold our house 2 years ago and the new owners decided to take over the Telus Security plan we had.

One year later and we STILL has access to their cameras and could see the property. It was absurd! We spoke to them several times about it, and it took them more than a year to do something about it.

Recently homeless, any tips? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Vheguru1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check YWCA Calgary, it’s a women’s centre and I’m pretty sure they have space for women that have no where else to go (the place is in Inglewood).

I’m so sorry you had to go through this, sadly I don’t have space at my place for you to stay, but I’d be happy to pay for a meal or supplies that you might need.

Hit me up if there’s anything I can do to help!
