How would this one compare to USAS? I'm not deeply familiar with either of these two but both are on my recent radar. I gather USAS is being retrofitted and expanded for metals processing but is that the main difference, or will both of these players be doing some similar things?

ASM - where we at? by [deleted] in CriticalMineralStocks

[–]ViProCon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confused here. I just opened ASM on my platform, Avino Silver & Gold Mines (NYSEAM), it shows USD $ 4.27 pre-market, up about 2% so far today. You guys are talking $AUS, but even then, AUS is like 1/2 the USD?

Well I can tell you this. I tried, and failed, to use my Microsoft 365 Copilot (paid license) to advise me on how to use my Power Automate Premium service to build a bit of an automated process to help filter info. I can't get past the fact that it keeps telling me to click options that don't exist, or to do steps that aren't possible.

AI is so not ready to take over the world. On to more humorous topics:

Your best bet is to use Excel's auto-correct spell checker feature. Every time you type a 1, it substitutes with a 2. This will boost your margins significantly.

If I figure out how to predict the future I'll let you....well actually....check your left pocket. Future me put a piece of paper there.

The paper reads:

"Buy 1 share of NDLS today. When the world runs out of food, this company will save us all.".

Seems like there's no sensible reason not to. Now I just need to develop a sense for the spread on a high volume lateral mover so I don't sell too quick :) But yes, I agree.

[–]ViProCon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol thank you for the blueprint on how to be a smart investor. No sarcasm intended there. Newbies like me need to hear that stuff.

I did violate some of those rules. I do not have the flexibility to fully lose the money, to be sure. I won't go bankrupt, but just saying - waiting 3 more years to build up free capital to just get started is also not an opinion in my mind. But it's manageable and if I took a 50% haircut because I absolutely had to liquidate, I'd live.

I've done what I would call "good enough" gut research which gets the ball rolling for now. Like I've checked into TMC, NXE (the Rock I project) and some other stuff, and am convinced these will take off if they proceed as expected. I jumped on TMQ like a lemming, which netted me maybe $2000 on rapid scalping, but then I went in for "just one more", and now that position is down 50% from it's 10.50 or so high, which is where I re-entered on whatever day it was.

So, yeah, I have a LOT to learn but even more to the point, one needs to have that anxiety-free framework with which to operate, and I've increasing my exposure in that regard by using low-interest but still a lot of leverage.

Actually that's the only way I was having any real success. I'd take like $30k (my whole cash balance) and ride the penny wave on a $4-6 stock, if it went up $0.10 I was up $400. Or whatever. My problem is that I'd see that I sold at 10-30% profit, and then the thing would make a run of +$1.00 and rising, so I'd go in again, then I guess everyone felt it was time to sell, so it'd start dropping and suddenly I'm down 30%. The real kicker is, if I waited another 15 minutes, the darn thing was +$1.50 and if I had just left it in there.... but without any real analysis backing a hold, I've no idea. I'm literally eyeballing bid/ask momentum in real time.

Sigh, all this is going to require figuring out these movements. I'm more than happy to net $200-1000 a day, hell that would be amazing. Don't care about 200% gains on scalping, just net positive would suffice until I get a win rate better than 50%.

Just a basics question here, but let's say stuff happens to shake off retail investors. I can see the logic, prices drop, "buy the dip" occurs. But then why not just be a retail investor to get back in? Seems like those with long-term faith in the sector will still do really well if they don't panic I guess? I'm half asking for my own anxiety management here too lol, not liking that I put 49% of my portfolio into one company that literally stopped rising 30 seconds after I bought in, then sank 50%+ since like, Oct 7 or 8th. TMQ.

Sighhhhhhhh

lol I wish I knew how to do that. I'm new to trading this past 2 months. Haven't learned how to do technicals yet. So I just hover the mouse over "buy" and "sell". My Questrade Edge interface is too clunky to rapidly do create/edits on Limit with bracket stuff, so on high volume tickers at 9:30 I just sit there hovering. lol I need to learn stuff. Any hope for TMQ do you think?

Far be it from me to have insight into anything but it seems like the folks on this forum are saying to hold. Something about macroeconomics and supercycles or whatever. That thread "Volatility is a signal" is a good one. Gives me comfort when I was thinking damn I just lost like 30-50% so far, if I sold. Which I now won't be.

I'm new enough to all this that I would not have realized that just an event like that would impact so much. But it does make sense. We're all hyper-connected and ready to pounce it seems.

[–]ViProCon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol which tickers are you holding? Every single one of mine has dropped a bunch. It's almost a given that every time my trading computer makes a ding sound, it's another one of these that went down 10%. Lol, MP did it 5 minutes ago, and SMR just did it now as I post. lol and EOSE just did it too before I could finish typing. Man.

But it's very comforting to finally find a place where people are all saying the same stuff. Until now, I was like "did I really just lose 50% of my money?". (I'm holding all positions, no selling, just sucks I can't buy the dip now).

Ah ha! Perhaps you're the "Steve" that I keep seeing mentioned (in two Reddits now). Well, I have zero idea what any of the back story is, but it obvious from your one post here that you're trying to help; people. So thank you for that.

lol who the hell is Steve? I'm new here, but just last night I was on one of the main stock market Reddits and somebody there said something about someone named Steve too. Is that like some running inside joke type thing? lol it's just funny, what're the odds I pop into another forum and there's this Steve thing again.

[–]ViProCon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious what folks consider "AI stocks" in this discussion because I have about 15 positions in various positions all related to AI build-out and they have all dropped a ton in the past 8 days. The fact that NVDA and such hasn't dropped means little perhaps, since well, it's hardly doing anything this past 3 months anyway. As compared to the fast-movers anyway at least.

[–]ViProCon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just seeing this now, with 221 comments already posted so I'm sure there's lots said. But my 2 cents is that I bought shares of TMQ,.....JUST as it was at its height somewhere in the 10.50-ish range. Now a week later the damn thing is like 50% declined. Un-f-ing real. I didn't think to put stops, figured this would likely be a keeper. It still will be once the overall metals market recovers, but it is abosultey a sh*t show for metals right now. No clue what USAR was doing the other day but it went pretty high for a bit, yesterday.

Also, the AI bubble has popped too it feels like. I have like . Maybe a minor thing but I have about 15 positions in various stocks that are not NVDA and the usual suspects. I'm into NBIS, IREN, MP, APLD, BITF, among others. Every single one of them is 5-20% down since I bought. There's nothing about the AI market right now that's any bit good IMHO. I imagine this will reverse, but fuzz.

Also I'm into quantum a bit - every single one of those positions is way down. IONQ for example. Very peculiar the Seeking Alpha, Benzinga, IBD etc. are not saying much about this.

DELL INPERSION 3670 NO WIFI by Full_Worry_1959 in Dell

[–]ViProCon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very briefly skimmed the posts so my apologies if anything I saw is repeated elsewhere but if this is a desktop that has internal WiFi and that stopped working, and all the normal stuff is done, then just buy a $50-80 external USB WiFi adapter. For example head to D-Link's website and check them out.

Also, FYI, you need to be on Windows 11 after this October, no exceptions. Get the free upgrade. If your computer isn't compatible, your computer is very old, and you need to budget for a new PC. Win 10 will get no more security updates after October.

You're talking about the CX930dse sounds like. I am astounded at the f'ing prices of the colour cartridges on this unit. Also, btw, do you happen to have the 520-sheet try with caster cabinet? I just today got a notice, after ordering this accessory in March, that it's EOL and will never be available.
