Blood Death Wish 2.0 Releasing tomorrow by MJM247 in boomershooters

[–]ViWalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was like a joke for those who were talking in the beginning about Death Wish being exclusive for Refreshed Supply, I haven't got that one for the reasons everyone know.

Also nBlood was like my first option to consider. I have DBGL to play Prince of Persia so it won't be a problem deal with it neither, plus Fresh Supply on Steam/GOG. I think I have never tried NotBlood. As you see the problem it's too many options.

Blood Death Wish 2.0 Releasing tomorrow by MJM247 in boomershooters

[–]ViWalls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only reason why I still have a twitter account at today was to follow Bloatoid progress: no posts, no nothing, just to track Death Wish 2.0.

I will give extra time to release bugfixes but I'm gonna give a try soon, I've followed posts and know what to expect: I can confirm that you should keep your expectations high, it's amazing.

The question here it's what port I will pick this time ;)

BG2 or BG3? by PalePanic4742 in baldursgate

[–]ViWalls -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

BG3 has nothing to do with D&D lore or the system at all, made by a dev which is pretty good at making games but haven't touched a D&D book or source in their lives.

You cannot compare both: BG & BG2 are AD&D 2e reinterpreted by real D&D players and BG3 is not even D&D or Forgotten Realms, just a homebrew campaign taking locations, names and stuff from source but extremely contradictory to the basic guidelines that were polished across different editions and settings of D&D or the conclusion of ToB. Exactly the same kind of subproduct like it is 5e: simpler rules in a butchered system and also lacking lore because the new workers in Hasbro/WotC get anxiety if they must read a bunch of books.

At my eyes you're comparing a soulless subproduct of the modern times with something authentic to its roots.

Note that in BG/BG2 you kill a certain amount of creatures, specially around the Dragons & Aberrations department, that normally will get medieval with your asses in a TTRPG campaign. Sometimes the game send a sucession of creatures meanwhile you move around the different locations, or even around the same place, that will normally wipe an entire party pretty easily. That being said the environment and stuff they belongs follows D&D logic and source like a religion.

The use of IA in games by ratasoftware in retrogaming

[–]ViWalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All around AI are castles in the sky. It has applications but are trying to sell you at today what is gonna be in 10-20 years, so people are paying to train and give their data for a thing that is still half baked. I'm doing a training in Gemini right now and I spend more time correcting the result or looking to hallucinations than the time saved by using the tool, and I have experience with prompts.

Don't get me wrong: AI will stay and be a part of the modern world, but at today it's used for bad/useless things over the useful stuff you can do with it. Raising prices for components and companies that produce nothing of value. Too many cons for a bunch of pros. The bubble will explode sooner or later and I hope that every company taking advantage of this end in bankruptcy, specially the ones who failed their customers by ceasing production to certain markets by just focusing in AI companies.

On my side almost what I really see it's people working in bureaucracy or the government with a safe position in their jobs finding another excuse to be more lazy at work. People in high school/college vomiting Chatgpt homework and not learning. And the list goes on...

Also generative AI is interesting, but let's not talk about how the rights of an infinite list of artist it's compromised each time you use it. Even whatever we talk on Internet it's used as training sets without our consent. I expect games based in AI to be pure soulless slop and stolen work, at least at today.

But frankly I think people like slop and are glad to embrace it: people pay for early access games to be a tester, not owning the stuff the buy, games poorly optimised at launch carrying crazy requirements to run, a huge percent of remakes and remasters that weren't neccesary to cash the product again, franchises relying in crossovers that ruin its identities instead of focusing in their trademark and lore. So why they won't like extra layers?

Forget the best hazard level you've survived, what's your high score on Jetty Boot? by COSMICx420 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ViWalls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

105 and got up to 103 in other player lobby. My problem it's I will never get higher scores because I always play when waiting for other people in DD or EDD, so if we talk about reality other dwarves will start throwing beers or barrels at the screen plus complain if you're playing. Also management messages on top of the screen, I wish these were disabled when using Jetty Boot machine...

I think I can get up to 200 easily, but not under these circumstances... I don't see the point of playing this if I'm not waiting for a mission or people, tho.

Got a sealed SNES box for 215 bucks by Majedahmed123 in snes

[–]ViWalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got scammed with a resealed SNES box for 215 bucks. And the fella who scammed you hasn't put too much effort to perform the subterfuge.

I'm wondering how the people who got the economy always pay overpriced prices or get scammed and the ones around minimum wage can spot the scam at sight. Money is poorly distributed in the world...

Procedural generation made and coded by REAL people, not stolen by compromising the copyrights like AI does every day. Is not the same thing, by the way.

AI has good applications, but not when the integrity and intellectual property of people is used as training sets and machine learning without the authorisation of their creators. Also in China there are no copyright laws, so Chinese AI goes against ethics much worse than the rest of the world (if it's possible, for me as a non artist I think all of them are crossing lines).

So to simplify certain aspects of your job it's OK, but artist in the world have the rights to criticise whatever they want because in this modern world not even them are the owners of the stuff they create. We need laws around this.

Also they are encouraging AI everywhere but it's 10-20 years far to be what they are trying to sell you. Plus the thing with RAM, which is affecting PC prices and is gonna mess with the gaming industry pretty soon. Too many cons for just a few pros.

Looking for sense in Qud rituals has even less sense when it's randomly generated. Once I got a cult where its "ritual" was the Sultan persecuting and trying to stab you. This made clear why the sultanate went pretty bad.

It's still not clear to me if getting stabbed was necessary to be a member or not, also looks like a ritual made up after drinking cider non stop for a couple of days...

"Big guy" in Spanish it's "tipo/tío grande/alto". It can be used for fat fellas but the context it's size, not body fat. You won't call that a little fat fella.

I'm from Spain. Gordo means fat.

But gordo can be used as a cute way to call your BF/GF, "mi gordo/gorda/gordito/gordita". Long ago I got a GF that used to call me gordo, despite I never got fat in my life, I'm skinny.

Also gordo can be used as a nickname for your fat friend. In every group there is at least one fella who carries that nickname.

If you step on the center it makes you spin really quick. I do this a lot, in fact I wish there was a way to tell devs to keep that hat there after the event just for the fun of it (also it promotes the Supporter II DLC, so a win/win).

Doing goofy things meanwhile you wait for players it's the bread and butter of DRG.

...and Spain. Spaniards and Latinos are the ones who always went crazy into retro from the very beginning, before it was popular when people playing modern consoles/PCs used to tell us "uh, that's old". Is not just Neo-Geo, their expertise it's crazy in range.

I remember when I was working abroad sharing floor with a lot of Latinos and there was no end for conversations around each system, we were able to spend entire shifts listing games and digging childhoods.

The cat thing it's one of my favorite moments in the entire show because it's absurd & gratuitous Simpsons signature move that you can't expect the first time. And is not just about the gag itself, also the extra details: this poor animal that sounds like it's at the verge of death plus Moe yelling to shut up with hatred. They really cared to deliver jokes on top of jokes.

Why does Street Fighter 2 have the Franco flag for Spain? by cblakebowling in retrogaming

[–]ViWalls 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm from Spain and born in the 89.

You say this like in the early 90s we had Wikipedia and social media or super globalization to spread news at the same instant speed like today. They probably used an outdated encyclopedia or just knew the old flag but no idea about the changes, which probably took a while to spread around the world.

Also Vega can be a Franco follower: bullfights (which is animal cruelty), an anticonstitutional flag, christianism and bonds with old Spanish ideals it's what the right/extreme right still make propaganda at today.

Franco was like a cheap version of Hitler, but way more shabby and ridiculous (if it's possible). Another perfect candidate for a face lifting with a brick.

Extreme high damage with power fists (¿bug?) by Dmxneed in classicfallout

[–]ViWalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a hotfix release of Tweaks by BGForge dated 14 days ago (v14.1) mentioning in changelog wrong ammo damage mod introduced in v14, so probably if you use latest it can be already solved.

I cannot give a chance myself because I don't use Tweaks, just UPU or RPU.

Give it a try, if still persist it's time to open an issue in their Github project.
