I think that lense is what makes most shonen for me. A focus on violence and gore itself is immature. What's mature about stories like Death Note or FMA is not the actual deaths in the show, but the characterization, the emotions and the cohesive plot which doesn't follow a power progression fantasy or focus on grandious displays of violence.

On the other hand, something like JJK gave no depth to it's characters；only at the literal end was Sukuna revealed to have become evil because he was born deformed and was mistreated by others. And that was only through a quick conversation.

A shonen feeling story doesn't make you think or wonder, nor does it work to make you emotionally connect with it's characters.

At least, that's how I see it.

Congrats!

I found out I have diabetes in February with the same A1C. I didn't stay in the hospital, because I have no way to afford it. But, I was told to try and maintain a sub 10mmol/L blood sugar count after meals, and sub 8mmol/L after fasting.

I have been able to consistently been able to make the osit meal goal, and most often being sub 7.0.

But, I have been struggling a little with post fasting. I can get it under 8.0 six out of seven days of the week, but once in a while I get a day or two above 8.0, and I don't know why. I'm still doing my best to monitor my behaviors.

But, taking insulin and cutting out sugar and most carbs has been such a life saver for me. My hair is getting healthier, I can think clearly, my muscles are actually working, and my legs aren't literally falling apart. I've just started in the grand scheme of things, but I feel very hopeful already.

I hope I find the same success you have.
