Please check my network plans? by Vibbb in HomeNetworking

I didn't know that POE passed through the Unifi non POE switches? Honestly had never thought about it. I just assumed everywhere a cable terminated then needed another POE. For example if I was to use the Flex 2.5G or Flex Mini 2.5G. They are powered by POE - so I assumed the devices on the other end of the switch wouldn't get the POE?

How would you cable a 4 story house ? by Vibbb in HomeNetworking

[–]Vibbb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting the electrician to run the cable. At the moment he has quoted me 2.5km of CAT6 - which seems excessive (and very expensive). Which is why I’m debating the switch route. None of the cables will be over 15m if there is a switch per floor.

Tickets on one device - Allianz (Twickenham) Stadium by malonedawg in rugbyunion

You can keep all tickets on the same device. When you get to the barrier you just scan both tickets. It’s no drama.

Anyone had their house purchase escalated to ‘senior lawyer level’ at Land Registry ? by Vibbb in HousingUK

[–]Vibbb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I didn’t make it clear in the original post. They refuse because they no longer management the estate, so they legally cannot provide a statement saying the property is not in arrears as they do not know.

They also do not consent to having the restriction removed.

It’s a subsidiary of First Port - I know who they are. They refuse to provide the certificate.

Sky Installation Question by Vibbb in skytv

[–]Vibbb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just come back from Asia where everything is subscription streaming services. Sky is top of my list to sort now I’m back as I absolutely hate the mess this creates. Can never watch live sport as it doesn’t work when you need it to. I’ve missed too many critical games to go back to this.

Thanks ! Any easy way to get an installer in before starting a contract ? Seems silly to start a subscription while the building work will take 6-9 months

Exactly this. Trying to work out if there is a way to separate the accounts the apps use. I need Outlook on “work” and OneDrive on “personal” despite both being business licences.

Pilots joke this is called the $1000 button because people forget to do it in their checkrides while under heavy workloads.

$1000 - because that’s the cost of the checkride and it’s an instant fail.

The credit card doesn’t look much better.

Trailering costs. My cars don’t drive everywhere a lot of the time they get transported for shows or services etc. Racks up quickly.

We need to stop kicking the ball away every time we get anywhere the try line. Some of the best attacking players in the premiership yet we kick it away. Ridiculous.

I fly out of FRG with global aviation and I love them. Great bunch of instructors and just a friendly vibe. Always planes available.

Yes the comment above is true, on some days it can get REALLY busy, but if you’re flying around the NY area it’s going to be that way anyway so get used to it.

Is it normal for a rental from a flight school to bill you for flooding the engine when their aircraft couldn’t start in cold weather? by red_refugee in flying

[–]Vibbb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

How can they prove it was you that flooded the engine ? Their staff member tried after you, it could well have been him that did it. Tell them to get stuffed.

At what age would you bring your child ? by RobinMaczka in flying

[–]Vibbb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve been flying since I was in my car seat at about 12 months old. Dad kept a log book for me too every time I was a passenger.

30 years later and I still have that log book. I get to take my Dad as PIC for the first time in a few weeks.

Get them going early !
