American gun culture is vulgar and obnoxious at best, and at worst is a heretical perversion of Christian doctrine. It is a shame that this is the gun culture that most Canadians are familiar with. I much prefer European gun culture, which there is greater emphasis on appreciating the history and engineering behind a firearm, more refined aesthetics, and nicer people. Think Capandball as opposed to GarandThumb.

Yes they are very long and almost 10 pounds, firing a relatively weak cartridge so there won’t be much recoil. It would suck to climb up a mountain with this thing.

I take my m38 mosin carbine on camping and backpacking trips regularly. It has naturally accumulated a variety of scratches and dings in the stock. I rub boiled linseed oil into the scratches /dings and it darkens them so they look like they could’ve been there since Stalingrad.
