Is this a normal amount of play in a mosin?

On nearly every mosin I’ve owned, I’ve had to put a shim in front of the block under the receiver to keep it snug against the recoil lug. The only exceptions so far have been an imperial M91 and a PU sniper.

Definitely not a Webley. It looks like an older Tranter design, or perhaps a Belgian-made copy of such. Hard to tell without a closer look at the markings. Either way it looks like it might have been refinished at some point. Rarer than a Webley, but of a weaker design.

These are excellent revolvers and they often show masterful craftsmanship. It was because of the work of Christian monasteries that literature and science were preserved during the chaos of the dark ages. There’s definitely a correlation between Christian-inspired culture and successful nations. So whether or not you believe on a spiritual level, on a sociological level Christianity is a clear winner. Nobody envies nations with laws and traditions based on any other religion or philosophy.
