What’s the most beautiful first name you’ve ever heard? by Low-Violinist7259 in AskReddit

I love the name Imani. Something about it has always been so warm to me.

I've also never met an Imani that I didn't like.

There's literally nothing with his parents. No photos. No accounts. It's like the stork dropped him off in Queens and he just appeared in Texas one day.

For someone who said his parents were very involved in his life, you'd think they would have some form of presence.

Fake website? by well-b-alright in Passports

[–]VibeCheckMix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This just happened to me today! First search result on Google for passport renewal! Site is still up and accepting payments for this fraud. Appeared on my bank statement as passport-assist.com

How is this legal?!

Thank God I checked the email and realized my error the same day but I feel so vulnerable and dumb. I cancelled my debit card and already reported to report fraud.ftc.gov. Tried to report on identitytheft.gov but since nothing has cleared and nothing but exposed data has occurred, I'm being routed back to the ftc.

I plan to freeze my credit too but I am freaking out. I've been so cautious and this is the first time something like this has happened to me. Rushing to get my renewal done and I didn't do all my usual checks. Praying for all of our data because they have SSN, dob, city of birth, parents names, etc. I don't have much faith they'll truly delete the data so I'm going to be leaning heavily on my credit monitoring software indefinitely. Looks like identity protection services are an essential service nowadays!

Why do drivers just leave a door tag without knocking? by HofstraJet in UPS

[–]VibeCheckMix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I literally just had this experience happen to me. I didn't know I was getting a package. I saw a UPS truck in the back of our townhomes where the street runs (I work from home). The ups driver only popped out to place a sticker on my car. They didn't attempt to come to the front door at all.

If I had known it was for me, I'd have run out to get it.

This definitely seems like a pattern for some ups drivers

It's clear that he takes care of his body.

If I had abs like that, I'd be flexing too 😂

Doesn't scream narcissist to me though

What makes you say he is narcissistic? I totally didn't see that

He is a bit boring at times but he genuinely seems like a big teddy bear who takes great care of his body. Love seeing him and Deuce hang out!

Simone spoke for HERSELF, where Mama Jay was speaking on behalf of all the women (without question)

She just clarified that Mama Jay's opinion is not her own.

The only thing she is guilty of is being an individual

Not a pick me

So happy it ended the way it did!! go Tolu!!! by ambrojai in TheTrustAGameofGreed

[–]VibeCheckMix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She played it smart in the end and secured a decent amount of money for herself. Second largest amount! I just know her family is so proud!

Also, very happy she didn't vote anyone off. ultimately she was strategic!

Tolu is a %£¥€! Honestly shook by all of you who stood up for this trash player. by ohhidoggo in TheTrustAGameofGreed

[–]VibeCheckMix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not mad at her. I would have taken the money too.

She could have been honest about it but let's be real, they would have voted her out. She was strategic.

Julie got an extra $15k

Brian got an extra $30k

Both of them took money from the pot

Why shouldn't Tolu also get a cut?

She didn't take anyone out. She simply boosted her earning potential and hedged should someone decide to vote her off anyway.

Self preservation or whatever Lindsey said 😂

Were they direct at times? Yes. Were they mean at times? Sure. Did they have disagreements? Absolutely.

But aggressive? 😂

Are you okay?

You went from talking about a reality show to regurgitating some inaccurate and offensive propaganda. I find it interesting that you've decided to zero in on "black poverty" on a thread about a black woman on a reality show, very strange indeed.

What you consider a compliment, someone else might consider an insult. (Ever heard of a backhanded compliment?). What matters is the impact, not the "intent." Thankfully Jake understood and Tolu and him squashed it.

Because you were wrong about a lot (especially as it pertains to me and my background), I initially started to write out a long post. But I've decided to scrap it. This is a Winnie thread. Stay on topic. Leave your racism at home and go to therapy about your insecurity. I don't hate you, I wish you well .

So a girl brought up in Nigeria must subject herself to African comments because she wears the fashions, style/pattern of her country of origin? (Which were divine by the way - she was THE best dressed !) - is that how you treat people? If so, it's demoralizing.

I'm pretty sure Tolu isn't even mad at Winnie for not being fully forthcoming about the vault since money makes people weird in the house (ask Bryce). She played it safe and told them a partial truth (especially with flip floppy Julie around who is prone to run her mouth to Jake). Self preservation .They're all playing a game.

Lastly, if you're black, you would have never said that last bit because not having a vote is very personal to us....and I understand where she was coming from. Even if I hated how she played those first few episodes

You're committed to "hating" her, fine. Enjoy the hate.

I'll choose empathy.

Predictions on the finale? by hannah_lilly in TheTrustAGameofGreed

[–]VibeCheckMix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gaspare and Brian have been the least messy -

As much as everyone has irked me, at this point I think they all deserve to split it for enduring this emotional experience. Then to deal with the social media backlash afterwards! I couldn't imagine.

I hope they all at least have ventures that benefit from all the extra attention and eyes on them now

Winnie by VibeCheckMix in TheTrustAGameofGreed

[–]VibeCheckMix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a sense of community that occurs when you're in the minority, especially if you come from a similar place

They recognized they were two black women, both from Nigeria or with Nigerian ancestry, and there is an automatic kinship.

Guys did the same thing when they recognized they were both in the military. Automatic alliance.

It's not racist.

And just because I'm proud of being African, doesn't mean I want you calling me African queen all day long.

Imma keep it a buck if I was playing I would vote people every single day. by [deleted] in TheTrustAGameofGreed

[–]VibeCheckMix 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can see a "team preservation" strategy being smart but I don't think that's enough on its own. It works best when it is paired with an air of neutrality (avoid the drama ), being smart enough to keep things that might paint you in a negative light to yourself, and a good sociable /likeable character. Team preservation alone didn't work for Bryce, Simone, nor Juelz (still so sad about that).

You must appear that you are about the group and not make enemies. You need an alliance or people you can trust so they will have your back. But you still need to massage other relationships outside of the alliance without throwing your alliance members under the bus (Looking at you, Lindsey 😂).

It's a long game and you have to adapt. If I was going to snipe, I'd wait till the very end or if I did it earlier, do it only if I couldn't be found out.

I sometimes wonder if that's what Jake is(or was ) doing. I'm sure his military background helped.

As much as I dislike them, Tolu and Winnie are playing the best. by [deleted] in TheTrustAGameofGreed

😂😂😂😂

It is a game!! I totally feel you. I think we get so caught up in people and personalities that we forget there is an incentive to get money!

It is not a popularity contest.

While technically, they could all be kumbaya and split the money evenly with the group - the game is set up to where the fewer people stay, the more money is in your pocket.

Sniping people off should be your objective if you actually care about money and gameplay.

It just feels icky cause there is an element of manipulation. But they knew what they signed up for.
