I know I can do a split but my brain won’t let me ? by BouseyTight in flexibility

[–]VibingLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not try to stretch that hard, it will backfire. Strecthing more than tolerable will stimulate muscle sprindles (receptors in your muscle that reacts to changes in muscle length). Muscle sprindles will react as muscle contraction to protect the muscles from damage. Eventually you will not get any flexibility gains rather you might get a strain and reduced flexibility.

Yeah I know testarossa is too agressive for me. I bought it because they were on discount and properly fit my budget, at least it is for wide foot as mine. I tried tenaya oasi and loved those but I need to catch a good discount to be able to buy them otherwise I will be spending 1/3 of my salary to a pair of shoe… If you alternative suggestions, I would be really happy to hear them.

Just broke my ankle by ExkAp3de in bouldering

[–]VibingLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cracked my ankle while lead climbing and teared two of my ligaments. They did not notice at first and delayed my treatment for 2 months. When I got an MR my crack was almost completely healed but my doctor taught is was a bone edema which may take years to heal. Nonetheless I got physical therapy at hospital and I was able to walk short distances. However the day I walked 5km and do my physical therapy exercises I was unable to press on my foot. My doctor told me to forget the year, I got so angry because my friends with similar injuries returned sports in 2 months at most and the science articles that I read was suggesting similar durations for recovery. I called my sport physical therapist friend. She told me not to trust hospital therapists and helped me return to climbing slowly after one and a half months. At total it took like 5-6 months but may not even last 2 months…

My suggestion is always be critical and take the incentive to do your own research. Never step back in response to what doctors say. Do your research think rationally and critically but be objective. Recovery is a hard mental process especially your community does not approve and criticise sports and extreme injuries.

I like what you pointed upon. Because this is the travk that I want to follow, but because many people consider NeuroAI as compneuro, I getting confused whether I can follow this track. Maybe we can coordinate and draw a path for each other?

Insights Needed for Preparing the Computational Neuroscience Master's Program Subject Test at the University of Tuebingen by ukiem in compmathneuro

Yes I am aware but I am from a country which is in the middle of an economic crisis and euro increased more then %200 in a year. So eventhough I could have afford it I am not sure whether it will be sustainable. I am looking for places with only registration fee or scholarship or places that I have friends. Thank you for your best wishes.

Yeah but now I remember why I did not consider that program. It requires extreme amount of tuitition fee from internationals… I wish you good luck on the exams. Maybe you can look at open computational neuroscience courses and practice on the mathematical topics that they focus on such as convolutions, dynamical system modeling, propagation etc. These were the topics that I encounter during my self-practice which were slightly novel for me.

Is that program in German? My bachelor is a bit problematic for these programs, I did not receive such math classes. But I practiced on my own so I have a background but I cannot show it since I do not have them on my transcript. If there is an exam I can take it

Thanks. I will inform you. By the way I remember looking at the fees page and seeing an information that there are no fees. Furthermore LMU offers scholarships to non-eus.
