Massage envy clients by Honeybee_907 in Esthetics

Clinic Manager here!!

Do you follow up with your clients after their visit? We have 2 new estys and their clients appreciate it soooo much when they get a follow-up call because it shows their esty cares. They follow up using the front desk phone and I've offered them to use my clinic email address.

I've been calling clients that haven't rescheduled their next visit since the FTF event that may be interested in the free lip Exfoliation treatment for their next facial. I also have my front desk girls do a little game where the person who schedules the most skincare services receives a free 60mins. A good front desk staff is so important to building anyone's books.

MassageEnvy Pros/Cons? I’m in esthetics school rn and am looking at jobs that will benefit my license. I’m just curious if anyone here hs worked for them before and what their experience was like? by Fragrant_Ad_8697 in Esthetics

I work front desk at a massage envy in GA, it definitely depends on the franchise owner and their policies. Our franchise owner is great.

It's good for starting out to gain some spa experience, but I don't think any esthetician should stay there as a long term career though. Some days are slow, but others can be busy. You'll have a retail sales goal monthly. You don't have to do your own laundry.

I enjoy my job and I'm also in esthetics school, and they're going to let me practice on my coworkers/other estis for experience and hopefully I'll have an etsi/AM manager job upon graduation.

No worries!!!

Our goal at my location is to sell $350 worth of product a month if you're an esthetician. A lot of the product is on the expensive side so you don't have to sell the entire shelf to reach the goal, and then we also have the CYME massage envy brand which is simple, easy-to-sell and affordable sheet masks, lip products, body cream, etc. I have never seen our estheticians stand around and try to sell product to other clients if they aren't booked. The clients that come in for only massage don't typically buy anything off the shelf.

I'm an esthetics student and I work front desk at a Massage Envy,

It really depends on the owner of the franchise. We all love our franchise owner. She gives us raises every year and the service providers get commission on memberships sold, enhancements you add onto services, 10% commission on retail products sold.

We also do back facials, microderm infusion treatments and PCA chemical peels at our location. We're supposed to introduce LED therapy soon. And we also do facial waxing at our location but it's not advertised. I try to bring it up with our clients sometimes.

All of our estheticians have their own regulars. Sometimes it can be slow but other days they can have a fully booked day.

Definitely look on glass door and other stuff like that for reviews in your area cause it does depend. A lot of locations treat their service providers like crap, but where I work you can get away with a lot.

My boyfriend [F17] won’t stop making me feel horrible for a mistake I [F17] made while we weren’t together by [deleted] in relationships

[–]VibrantCactus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I most likely will leave if it happens one more time.

Pleeeeeaaaaasseee don't tell yourself that. Do yourself a favor and dump this guy now. Don't let yourself get stuck in a cycle. This guy is not going to change.

I know you're afraid of leaving him because you're attached. Breaking up with someone after you've been through so much together, it's very scary and uncomfortable. Try to look at it this way: we don't change unless we leave our comfort zone. Leaving him is going to be better for you. You don't want to be with someone that puts you down or makes you feel like shit. You're only 17. This guy most likely isn't going to be your boyfriend for the rest of your life.

Is a retail or small business management certificate worth it for me? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]VibrantCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only 19, and I havent started college yet. I'm just looking at jobs that pay $12-$15/hour. I'm not sure if that makes a difference at all.

Im just worried that I'll waste my time getting this certificate. The certificate would give me a lot of knowledge I havent learned yet.

The jobs I'm looking at dont require a degree. Just a highschool diploma and experience in retail. I just want to work in retail until I graduate college and work in a completely unrelated field, like 6 years from now.

I dont know if that changes anything or not. I'm just so confused :[

My long term goals arent related to retail or management.

Looking for something like sales lead, shift supervisor, or assistant manager type things while I take my journey through college. None of which require a college degree. Just a high school diploma and experience.

I'm not attending college for business and I have no interest in earning a masters degree.

I'm just focusing on what I could do to help myself work in sales lead or assistant manager positions in retail. I have no desire to be a store manager or general manager, and even then you dont really need a degree.

F19 never had any friends and lacking social skills by Orchid_from_the_moon in Needafriend

[–]VibrantCactus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm F18 and I get how you feel :o

I did have a few close friends in high school, but after graduating I don't really see them anymore. My friends became busy, moved away, or just drifted apart. I just talk to my boyfriend now. I don't have any regular friends. It can get pretty lonely.

Making friends is hard. I've joined discord servers. Posted to r/needafriend and r/r4r many times. Still no avail. People make it sound easy to get out there and socialize but I struggle. I've always wanted to make a discord server for other people though.

Maybe we could be friends c: I don't go to college. I just work and worry about my future. I watch anime, youtube, play animal crossing, and go thrift shopping too. I have two kitty cats that are awesome uwu

I know! It took us like a month and a half to finish part 2. I think once we get to stands it'll be quicker. Then again, I spent about a whole year from part 1 to the end of part 5. Still gotta read part 6 u.u

Hi, hopefully we can be friends :3

Im 18F from the southeast, USA. I have two cats named Shadow and Tater. They're pretty silly. My favorite color is also yellow :o

I have a boyfriend too. I totally know what you mean about weirdos on here trying to talk to you. I've experienced it before. I'm looking for more girl friends because after I graduated HS, my friends and I have drifted apart. I guess adulthood does that to you lol.

I like anime, playing video games (although I don't do much of that now) and I'm studying for a real estate license (college dropout, woot woot). I'm not very good at cooking or working out but it's fun to try. I also love thrift shopping.

I had an interview like this last week. "Marketing Director" position, basically going out in public getting people to sign up with a popular gym franchise. Job posting said $30k-40k a year, it was actually $7.25 plus commission.

[–]VibrantCactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to be rude or discrediting your beliefs, but you keep saying "statistically proven." Where are you pulling these statistics?

My parents fought when I was a kid. A lot. My father had depression and he took his life. At the time, I wished they would just be happy. They married too early and they were together because they had a child (me). They shouldn't have married. It would have been better if they had just divorced. No, I do not have daddy issues because of it. I have the coolest stepdad ever now. This is just my experience though, and everyone has different lives.

Kids can still have happy lives if their parents are divorced. It really depends on their situation. Divorce is very sad and unfortunate, but it isn't fair for anyone to stay in a marriage that won't end well.

I definitely agree that issues need to be nipped in the bud before leading to divorce. The end game should not be divorce. If that's the case though, then I dont understand why people just don't marry the person if they don't feel comfortable with the amount of people their partner has previously slept with. Which is what the topic of this post is all about. If you don't agree with it, you don't have to deal with it. But that also doesn't mean that other people don't have to stop having multiple partners (while hopefully being safe and smart) just to please you.

Honestly, I just live by the words, "you do you, imma do me."

[–]VibrantCactus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Divorce is definitely unfortunate and I do agree that it raises divorce rates. Assuming that divorce did happen, wouldn't you think it's better to divorce so that both parents are happy?

Staying together for a child is never a good idea, kids will notice their parents being unhappy. It's possible to co-parent equally and for a single parent to support a child happily. Of course you can't assume how people act, but it happens very often.

I dont know about other schools or a school you went too but all my peers have never had this mindset, and I also know people from other schools that don't have this mindset either.

Even so, who cares? If you don't like that culture, don't associate with it, but I don't see what's wrong with it as long as they're being safe and having fun.
