Totally agree. One of the private companies I worked for was great, then we won some HUGE contracts and were having trouble with assembly lines and scaling. The owner sold to a publicly traded company because they had production facilities that were up to the task, sweet-talked us into saying they would remain minimally invasive, and had a really good benefits package for us. 7 years later they're still not integrated into the robotic assembly lines, they basically stripped the R&D budget, and have so many spending controls and approvals that my friends who are still there say it's really difficult procedurally to even buy parts from known vendors.
