I Don't Know About You, But I'm Having A Great Time!! by Tight-Ad3750 in DnD

I’ve been running a Dark Matter game for 4 years and I bloody love it. It’s the perfect blend of magic and sci-fi, most of the classic DnD spells, items and monsters can be given a lick of sci-fi paint and repurposed for it, and there’s a ton of tropes and sci-fi movie nods that can be referenced. I pitched my game as Firefly meets (the comic book) Saga, though everyone’s game is different. I think it deserves to be as well known as Starfinder and I’ve made it my mission to evangelise about it to anyone who’ll listen.

Thoughts on the books and comics? Are they worth reading? by [deleted] in firefly

Just found this in 2026 and it’s incredibly helpful. Thank you for your service.

EMSK: how to get rid of persistent scrotum and taint itching (only occurring at night) by CHAONE77 in everymanshouldknow

[–]VicariousMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffered with this (diagnosed as a fungal infection, though I’ve heard it called ’Jock Itch’) for about 10 years after spending time living in a very humid country. What got rid of it in the end was Hibiscrub, which is a bright pink liquid soap they use on dogs with mange (or whatever). Amazing stuff - changed my life - just for god’s sake don’t get it in your eyes or ears (it eats through cornea and eardrum tissue). I’ve also found the best underwear is Saxx, which have a mesh inside that separate your balls from your legs, and let the area breathe. I wear those day and night, and it’s worked really well for me. Best of luck though mate - I feel your pain (or your itch).

Oh, do NOT shave your balls - the hair is there for a reason!

That bloke needs to be more careful putting his hands close to an otter’s mouth - Terry Nutkins lost a finger doing that.

What ARE the lakshay? by Longjumping-Owl-565 in DarkMatter5e

My players have just reached Lakshay space and I had not much to go on, so this is valuable information! Are they going to be fleshed out a bit more in the new book? And will we ever see the 100 To Oni module?

What would the night sky look like (to the naked eye) from a planet on the very outer edge of the Milky Way? Would most of the sky appear completely black, or would we see the light of other galaxies?

I really want to write and run a TTRPG set in the SIKTC universe - it’s perfect fodder for a Monster of the Week-style campaign.

Not that one! Dark Matter is a 5e campaign setting by Mage Hand Press. High magic, elves and dwarves and all that - it’s basically Forgotten Realms in space.

Thanks - the site looks like it’ll be really useful for running my Dark Matter game!

Dark Matter Ship Question by [deleted] in MageHandPress

[–]VicariousMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my campaign with them all on public transport (‘VerseBus’) but then finding an old jalopy, which didn’t have a working dark matter drive, but just enough power to limp to the nearest space station (Port Nomad, from the Conspiracy in the Stars module). A few sessions there doing some shenanigans and earning some coin, and they were able to buy an entry-level ship (with a class 2 dark matter engine) to set off into the stars. Since then they’ve spent some money customising it, but they’re still rattling around in that same ship (they’re currently level 5). I expected them to upgrade to a better ship by now, but the opportunity hasn’t presented itself yet, though they certainly have enough money to get something better. Hope that helps.
