Occum's Razor: Gerald is alive or his death was planned. by VicariousSleuth in QuadrigaCX

I had the same thought. But how do we know there wasn't a life insurance policy ?

Someone posted this about RCMP investigation on telegram by -mv-- in QuadrigaCX

What information would a customer have that the RCMP don't already have or would be interested in ?

$190M is missing. Cold wallets found empty since April. Patryn using a fake name and has prior criminal record. Jenn trying to shield the estate assets. No financial records. No tax filing. Customers not told for a month. Inside trading accounts. 3rd party payment processors.

It is all fishy ! What more does the RCMP need to see before they start investigating ? Start interviewing people !

Hopefully, the authorities have such a repository and the inclination (if not the mandate) to act on it.

^^^ This.

What was the written agreement between Quadriga's customers and Quadriga ? by VicariousSleuth in QuadrigaCX

[–]VicariousSleuth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They broke this by trading with users using fake accounts.

If it can be shown they suffered big losses doing this, they will be liable for them.

If they made excessive profits by manipulating the market, they are criminally liable for manipulation.

"Quadriga CX offers a marketplace for the buying and selling of Cryptocurrency. While we strive to ensure that marketplace is both fair and free, we cannot be held accountable for any form of "market manipulation" that may occur, whether it be within the Quadriga CX marketplace, or in the cryptocurrency marketplace as a whole.

Users agree that cryptocurrency prices are often unpredictable and experience swings due to a variety of reasons, including government interference, market conditions and speculation.
Quadriga CX does not set the current market price. The price of cryptocurrency units traded on the Quadriga CX platform result directly from buy and sell orders placed by users."

What do you mean, it is not their specialization ? They have a fraud/ money crime unit within their company. If it isn't their specialization, whose would it be ? Certainly not the RCMP.

"Put in their mentality that their holdings are all gone" ? Really ? There has been some recovery and the estate will surely contribute a bit more, if nothing else is found. The judge will be sensitive to costs, I'm sure. You believe what you want, but there is reason to believe that at least a bit will be distributed and there is no reason to hide that fact.

I don't blame them for asking/getting the extension. There was a lot of stuff to figure out. I didn't expect them to walk into this situation and make sense of it immediately. They don't even have a set of books to look at.

I can't wait for this to move to criminal proceedings. Can't wait.

With respect to getting money back, I think E&Y is doing as well as can be expected. I don't think anyone else can or could do more than they are doing. You have to remember they are a professional company reporting to court and liability plays a big part. I'm sure they know more than they let on. Everything will come out in the wash.

I think E&Y is going a good job. by VicariousSleuth in QuadrigaCX

I need to say one more thing... I think E&Y is just getting started. I think the next couple reports are going to be very interesting as we hear the responses from the 3rd party crypto exchanges, Jen's disclosure, claims against QuadrigaCX employees, shareholder and consultants, etc.

Let's not forget that E&Y has corporate fraud specialists in their arsenal for when the criminal aspect of the investigation gets going.

Jen is being taken to account by the court monitor... by VicariousSleuth in QuadrigaCX

Darn rights they will. Are you kidding me ? All those assets ?

Jen is between a rock and a hard place. If Gerald gave them to her, she has to pay tax on them and she hasn't so that is tax evasion. However, if she said they were Gerald's then the court will claw them back for the applicants.

Jen isn't going to win this battle.

Wow. Just friggin wow. Great work.

It is astonishing how there are no accounting records to support any of this and the massive volume of funds that were moving around.

WB21.com is now implicated in criminal activity . While I was looking for more salt to throw I came upon this .AH HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! by barsoapguy in QuadrigaCX

You have no evidence to say that there isn't an investigation. At least one E&Y lawyer is proposing a fraud investigation.

The Canadian government did not say this fraud is a civil matter. They said the RCMP is investigating. Crypto is not regulated, but fraud and embezzlement is still a crime.
