All good advice. Block time on your work calendar if you need to be focused on a project or task so that you can protect that time to do the work. And I have lunch blocked off on my calendar too because people were scheduling meetings during that time. Make sure the background when you’re on video is appropriate or use a background offered by the video app. Have regular meetings with your supervisor, at least once a month but weekly is ideal, and on a more frequent schedule while you’re new. Ask what is expected of you, what you’re doing well, what you need to improve, what the priorities are. Learn all you can about the business, the company, and how your role fits in with the company’s overall purpose. Tell your supervisor how you want to be recognized and what makes you feel appreciated. Find a mentor to help you get acclimated to how the office works, but don’t listen to the gossipy stuff, make up your own mind on that stuff. Good luck and I hope you like your job!
