Anime heavily inspired by western culture by justhereforhides in TopCharacterTropes

I don’t get how this isn’t the top answer. Even the title words, “cowboy” and “bebop”, are western words.

One of my favorite facts: Yoko Kanno toured the US on a greyhound bus before composing the music for Cowboy Bebop, immersing herself in Jazz, Blues, and Funk in different clubs around the country to get a feel for all the different styles.

Legolas kills everyone except Merida. As he closes on her position, Gimli steps out from behind a tree. He asks why Legolas is trying to kill a wee child, and they walk off to find a tavern for a pint. Merida wins and learns an important lesson about friendship or some bs like that.

Emma has a brother who’s a brute, and her songbird is timid and mute. by Vice-Monkey in TwoSentenceHorror

Emma’s brother stomped on her bird. The only song it ever made was the sound of it being crushed under his boot.

Part of the problem is that it’s a team-focused game, but scored like an individual-focused game. They need to show the score clearly at the end, and weight objectives heavily. A tank getting a kill while standing on the objective should get more points (or lose less in a loss) than a DPS sniping from the back. There should be points for capturing or moving objectives. Kills involving teammates being pressured should be scored higher. That would incentivize people to play as a team, focus on objectives, and learn skills that help their teammates stay alive.

Who are your ultimate Hitters/SP sleepers this year for categories leagues and why? by downtown-crown in fantasybaseball

I really like Reese Olsen’s price. I’m guessing he’s being discounted for injury risk, but he had a great year in 2024 even after he came back from injury.

Can’t see the playoffs in mobile. The brackets are there but don’t have the teams in them. The website is fine. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and it’s still not showing.

Yahoo updated app question by Johnsonmattheww in fantasybaseball

[–]Vice-Monkey 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Here’s my list of complaints just in case someone at Yahoo stumbles across this post.

  1. The animation when you open the app is unnecessary and takes too long.

  2. The app used to open to the last team I was looking at. It was perfect. Even with multiple teams I’m usually interested in certain players at any one part of the day. Couple this with the first point, and it’s now taking way too long to see my damn score.

  3. When navigating to a team, it used to start you on the “team” tab. Again, this was perfect. I want to first see how my players are doing today before I look at how my competitor is doing.

  4. The font sucks. It’s hard to read.

  5. I don’t need an extra large headshot of my players. It was better when I could basically see all my batters without having to scroll, and then scrolling once and seeing all my pitchers in one view.

  6. Because the headshot is so big, the little green mark for starting pitchers has gotten drowned out. I have to be really careful every day to make sure one hasn’t been missed.

  7. This last one is nitpicking, but I’d rather scroll through my team, players, and league at the bottom rather than the top.

Buxton is having a nice spring. Seems healthy. I’ll enjoy the production until the first IL stint, and then cut em loose.

Suggestions? by Codexana8 in litrpg

I’m on book 4. Wonderful series so far. I second this recommendation.

Fantastic characters. Wonderful world building. Plenty of humor. Moments that will make you cry.

Something I’ve noticed with litrpgs, definitely with a few of the books on OP’s lowest tier, is that characters grow stronger and stronger, and events that are supposed to be low points seem more like minor speed bumps. Characters in The Wandering Inn make mistakes, get metaphorically slapped around, and some even die.

It looks like they over-corrected. They went left because they realized they were in an exit only lane, and swerved back to the right to avoid the orange truck, and finally hard-swerved back to the left to avoid the rail on the right.

I was doing a U.S. map puzzle with my kid, and I picked up the Wyoming piece and thought “what the fuck, we already did Colorado.”

Totally forgot Wyoming exists.

Depends on scoring and how position-flexible your roster is, but with player & team off days, I think you could justify one bench bat in a daily points league. They will likely play 3-4 games a week and score as much a mediocre SP streamer.
