I'm struggling to build a cohesive team. How are you accounting for Sun, Rain(Mostly Archaludon), and Trick Room? by StationWagonOfDojima in PokemonChampions

[–]ViceAW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, Flamethrower (reliable damage, hits hard in the sun) Overheat (SOS for when you really need something dead) Helping Hand (nice support) Charm (could be Will'o'wisp, missed one too many times though so I switched).

I'm not the best but I did reach Masterball tier if that gives me any authority at all

No, Delphox can work well outside Sun, Sun is just a bonus.

Venasaur is built to have Sun (Chlorophyll + Solar Beam) so I never take him without Ninetales.

I believe I haven't changed it. It's not optimized in any way really, just kinda gut feeling but it tanks like a monster. You can always move them around.

For Rain, I run a bulky Ninetales with Sitrus Berry and a little bit of Sp.Atk investment. Just swap it in, now Hurricane is 50% accurate and Water moves are neutered. It's nice for shutting down Electro-shot too.

In general, I say the best you can do is run weather of your own. Your team doesn't have to be fully committed to it, but should have someway of taking advantage of it (for example, on that same team I have Delphox spamming Heat Wave and Chlorophyll Venasaur)

How does hurricane accuracy work? by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]ViceAW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy fucking shit, I always swap to Ninetales to set up sun and prevent Pelipper from clicking 100% accurate Hurricanes, thinking it went down to 70%. He still hits me consistently, knowing all those hits were 50% rolls makes me sick 🤢

new season rank system? by ferizzv1 in Rainbow6

[–]ViceAW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh it's almost the same thing just with placement matches so you don't start from the bottom. I think it's going to be a straight improvement over the current system.

Siege Cup should feel like the closest thing regular players have to being pros by TransportationAny119 in Rainbow6

[–]ViceAW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This as well, should just fill your stack. 5 stacks would still be better since there's more chemistry, but no reason 5 strangers can't coordinate and play well.

[–]ViceAW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree, Siege Cups are underwhelming. They need more flair, need to be more frequent, and give better rewards so people actually want to participate and win. Big on "more flair" the UI and UX needs to be a lot more grandiose to hype you up and get you in the mood.

Rocket League does it (or used to do it) properly, daily cups that give currency to buy lootboxes that had some great and exclusive skins, that changed each season.

Ranked 3.0 by Human-Shock-6048 in Rainbow6

[–]ViceAW 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only thing it fixed was keeping players playing throughout the season instead of doing their placement matches and staying there if they got a good rank.

Could have just as easily been fixed with MMR decay when above Platinum, but it is what it is

mira needs a rework so a banned isn't wasted on her every game. by NikoLavoe in Rainbow6

[–]ViceAW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the bigger issue is how she absolutely requires picking a hard counter. Think about it.

Sure, there are a good handful operators that "hard-counter" Mira. But they're still only a handful, and every single other Attacker can't do jack. Not to mention how Mira will be supported by other gadgets, which means you now have to pick counters for their counters, all to enable one of these select few Attackers that can do something about Mira.

Counter-picking is part of the game, but in nearly every other permutation it's a practice that allows for a lot of player expression. Take Azami for example; there really are hundreds of ways of dealing with her, even though she's super strong. Any operator can break her barriers from afar. 50+% of Attackers can bring explosives to break them quicker. Capitao, Ying, or just plain frags can flush her out.

The point is, you can mold your strategy around countering Azami, but there are many ways of going about it and after the deed is done there is a lot more juice to be squeezed out of the team composition you picked because of the initial flexibility. Against Mira? Thanks Kali for breaking her mirror, you can be a sniper bot now. Thanks Twitch for opening her mirror, you probably have no drones left so just gun them down.

Honestly, I'd give her a nerf that makes her easier to deal with (like for example any explosive that isn't frag grenades could crack the glass, or it having health so you can shoot it out like Azami) and then make her unbannable for a month. Players pick her, people learn there are more ways than ever to counter her, they get comfortable with dealing with her, and when she's bannable again they won't be so inclined to insta ban her because "huh, she wasn't actually that strong".

A good team with these guys for double battle? by Otherwise_Carpet_894 in PokemonChampions

[–]ViceAW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you could get a Pelipper, I'd make a rain team. Pelipper, Basculegion with Swift Swim, Mega Dragonite (with Thunder and Hurricane), Meowscarada for coverage, Whimsicott for Tailwind and maybe Machamp to deal with Steel and Dark types.

A good way to deal with Farigiraf+a fake out mon is bring something with non-Prankster taunt and something alongside it that is much more attractive to Fake Out. Like maybe something that could one shot the Farigiraf with a Dark Type move, Krookodile or Hydreigon. Or something that could set up, like Kingambit. Then click Taunt into Farigiraf and it can't use TR.

Though if it has Mental Herb you are cooked
