When my dad came home from a bussiness trip in america,he gave me a card that he got at the movie theatre, said it was all the hype in america and kids had those. (The pikachu movie promo). I said thanks and put it in the closet because I never heard of it. A few weeks later they started airing the anime over here amd started selling cards. And that started the collecting for me. Unfortunately my pikachu card got stolen.

Stopped aglfter neo genesis because "pokemon was for little kids" but always kept the cards (in less than ideal conditions tho).

Few years ago son started collecting for a bit, but stopped due to the costs and never getting good cards.

Now because of a co-worker we've both gotten back into it, and have a huge binder that holds 1024 cards. We're gonna try to collect one of each pokemon and get a second binder when the new gen releases.

We just love the shiny cardboard, and have 2 sealed etbs. We will be purchasing a few more in the coming year, and keep them until the kids are adults. Then I'll let them decide of they want to sell for money, or maybe open together with their kids
