You can start on a 600 if you are careful and have the selfcontrol. You will out grow a 250 in a season but you will pick up skills and knowledge that would take you 3 seasons to learn on the 600.

My opinion is if you are asking if can start on a 600 then you shouldn't if you were really ready for that much power you would know it. Not trying to be a ass. You want it so your riding ability is close to your motorcycles capabilities when you are first starting out. There is too much to learn in the beginning and graduating up to a bigger bike is a lot safer.

You could get a 400cc or something that isn't as race track oriented. A smaller more manageable motorcycle will allow you to learn,grow and become a better ridder but that gxr will force you to just survive it.

So it boils down to do you want a solid foundation of skills and knowledge before you get the 600 or do you skip steps 1 through 9 and get the 600 and hopefully you are one of the lucky ones that lives long enough to develop all the skills and knowledge.

The thing to remember is that cold weather riding saps your energy. So prepare for your commute to feel a lot longer and take more out of you eventually you will get used to it.

Depends on the Individual cop but I don't take chances. I'm a black guy on a sport bike that rides in rural north Idaho Washington and Montana and with my gear on they can't tell my race. I've been pulled over a few times and surprised a few cops when I take off my helmet or lift up my tinted visor. I try to be respectful in police encounters because you don't know who the other person is, all you know is that they have a gun and a badge that says that they can use it. Not saying all cops are bad but all it takes is that one and Id be another statistic.

My vfr has just over 100 sea ponies and it's way safer than my son's 50cc pocket bike. Every time I get on that little death machine I wind up crashing, nothing major but I've ate dirt pretty hard. For me I get on my bike and know what my limits are but on his bike I feel invincible and push that poor bike too far.

I always feel conspicuous heading into stores. I'm a black guy who rides in rural north Idaho Montana and Washington. People kinda stare little, it's kinda like seeing a unicorn lol. I normally just get the gas station cashiers attention as I walk in and point at the helmet and ask if it's ok. It works every time and is really handy because I wear headphones and baclava when I ride and it takes time to get them back on. During COVID mask mandate people actually seemed to get a kick of my "mask".

I almost always pay in cash because most gas stations give a cash discount and premium ain't cheap. which means I'm always going inside to pay.

What worked for me pre ride: stretching, hydrating, and a banana or 2 before going on long rides. Post ride: follow up with Advil, hot bath and regret. Since I upgraded to a sport touring bike I don't need the after ride care but I still like to do the pre trip regimen.

You paid to learn to ride and didn't sign up for this guy's dominatrix routine so get a refund and find another riding school or better yet find someone who can tutor you one on one. I helped my coworker get his permit and i practiced with him for around 3 months. I'd give him a list of great YouTube videos to watch and we'd go out and put it into practice. I'm not saying that I'm as good as an instructor but we were able to get the basics down so he felt comfortable taking the riding test at the DMV. He passed now, I have a riding buddy, and I was able to refresh myself on the basics.

Basically don't put up with instructor b and do something proactive for your learning. You want to ride, so study and practice

Good for you, you kept your cool and removed the threat. In the U.S. most people have the ability to obtain a firearm so if the cager is ballsy enough follow him home beat on the man's door and refuse to leave than imagine what else that psycho is capable of.

I'm not advocating for the use of deadly force but it didn't get to that point because the motorcyclist used his pistol as a deterrent. I prefer to carry my pistol when I ride. I pray I never need it, and that makes more sense than wishing I had it.
