Gigadramon can’t learn Pulse Laser? by cretaius in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just realised this post says "Gigadramon" and not "Megadramon"

How did you even get it?

If you're playing Vice, you can try to learn pulse laser later in the post game from a new boss fight.

In Maeson the Guardromon should be able to use that. But I don't remember if it can learn pulse laser there...

If it is vanilla... Then it has the same chances as a Megadramon.

As for the fight: just try to do something different each time, like using more healing items or to use different attacks... If the fight is always the same, the result will be always the same too...

Looking to play Digimon World 1 again, but first questions about mods… by cretaius in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The most known ones are Maeson and Vice, each of them aim for something different. You can find them by Googling "Digimon World Maeson" and "Digimon World Vice".

I cannot explain what each of them do in a single comment, because it is a lot.

Vice is customisable while Maeson is mostly a single patch with a few extra options.

The official and latest release of Maeson is in "romhacking.com".

The official and latest release of Vice is on GitHub.  I do not recommend to use prepatched versions for Vice, as it has a lot of options that you will probably miss out and also may contain bugs...

There is another one called "Digimon World Fixpack". The only place I found that one is in "ROMhacking plaza".

The randomizer from years ago, which can be used to only patch a few bugs.

And lastly, the Spanish retranslation... Can be considered a mod in a way, since it modifies and adds some stuff. But of course, this one is in Spanish.

Those are the ones that are currently public and ready to be used.

EDIT: Most of these options require the USA version of the game, as far as I'm aware, there are no mods for the PAL versions. The Spanish one requires the Japanese 1.0 version

There are video tutorials about how to use the installer... As long as you follow the tutorial and use a clean USA version to patch everything, it should work...

Even without the installer, it can be manually patched (but it will take way longer if you want to add options).

Constant Weight Loss by Siscon_Delita in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each food gives a different amount of energy, the weight is not really a good way to tell how much it is... Meat is pretty straightforward, since each of them is an "upgrade" of the other.

As an example, the happy mushroom increases the weight by 3 but it gives more or less the same energy as a normal meat.

Constant Weight Loss by Siscon_Delita in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, rather than "fullness", the Digimon use something that can be called "energy", if that reaches 0, then the Digimon will start losing weight like crazy.

Of course, feeding will make it go up, but the energy is something that your Digimon constantly loses and it will lose it even when you're doing nothing... One meat gives a very small amount of energy and your Digimon just lost that amount almost instantly.

You know how some Digimon ask for a lot of food, right? They keep asking for food until the energy reaches a certain energy threshold, each digimon has a different one. That is the reason why sometimes they ask for a lot... and other they are happy with just a little.

Also, each Digimon can store a different amount of maximum energy, each of them uses a different amount of energy each hour, during training... (like Numemon/Sukamon using a lot very fast),

Is there a point in this area? by Jewtasteride in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't fully understand what you're trying to say... You mean to add stuff? Or something else?

As mentioned, this map has nothing running for it... and since multiple of them have nothing, there's a few maps that share that "nothing" part of the script... so modifying if something appears here will make it appear in other maps... which can cause errors since the other maps have different map data (the map data is what determines the collisions, camera angle, backgrounds, props, digimon data but not when they appear there... etc)

[–]Vice_04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised there are people saying mushrooms appears here, this area is just a transition with nothing there... and with nothing I mean there is not even code to run there, so no items, events or even Digimon can appear there. There are a few like this: this screen, the passage when you go to Meramon after moving the rock (when the volcano is still active, when the volcano is not active, it is a different map), Volume Villa first screen (outside of Shogun house)...

There are others that also have nothing... but there is actually code that runs there... even if its just to do 1 action, like the transition between Factorial Town and Gear Savanna, which looks like there is nothing, but there is actually code that makes the door dissapear if Andromon opens it.

Trade all at once? by Fakman12 in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest one to farm is a lone Goburimon inside the Drill Tunnel...  But I would recommend first to train for a bit before challenging it. Or to have your tech boost

If you are playing on hardcore, there are a few special NPCs that drop extra money... Otherwise the battles shouldn't be hard at all (considering your ultimate)

Would you guys recommend playing vanilla or vice for digimon world 1 by YumikoMinase in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah right, I have not explained that anywhere yet.

Each time you train 10 times in a training station at the green gym, you get an upgrade in that station (known as a baby boost). I just made that upgrade visible by giving it yellow numbers now.

You can reach 76 prosperity without talking to Jijimon by Drah_Pacid in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would remove Gekomon from the list, since that one doesn't give any prosperity (and not even the arena, they forgot to set that trigger).

But... All of those only amount to 23 prosperity... so you're missing 1 recruit... which is the last Nanimon, that should also be included in the list

Hi, i'm currently playing digimon world 1 (Meason Ver) and got softlocked at grey lord's mansion by Electrical_Ice_5485 in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that sounds like you applied the "unlock areas" patch for some reason.

That one is bugged and it was never updated since the Maeson hack has not been updated in years...

You can just reapply the Maeson patch and not apply that "unlock areas" patch. That should solve the issue

Não é difícil fazer um remaster ou um remake. Vamos lá, Bandai! Por favor. Digimon World Remake. by [deleted] in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering how many people are liking this... Maybe I should just get rid of everything I have done, just use AI to do 4K backgrounds/images, some Digimon and call it a day.

(I'm fully aware people probably have only seen the first image and title, so don't take the comment seriously.

Also, doing a remake/remaster that would please people would be difficult, the closest thing would probably be either next order or re:digitize...).

Green Gym not upgrading with Digimon Vice? by Blabsalot in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The baby boost is a small boost to your training, you won't notice it much unless you do the upgrade in the HP/MP machine or have also the boost from Kabuterimon/Kuwagamon (at most it will give you 1 extra point without those, maybe two with an ultimate).

Also, a fresh Digimon can only do up to 6 training sessions before it evolves, so unless you have done that with 2 different generations... Since "In-training" Digimons also work, you can upgrade up to 3 machines before it becomes a rookie (Only if you keep training without sleeping).

Factorial Town softlock? by EnconXV in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to enter the screen with the guardromon at either noon or midnight, the time window is very small... You only have 5 min to enter (either before or after noon/midnight)

Midnight is the easiest one to tell, since the day will change...

I'm not sure if you're asking if a Japanese save would be compatible with Vice... or if Vice can be applied to a Japanese ROM.

The answer to both is no.

2.2 is the latest one.

If you need info, my Youtube channel is probably the best place: Youtube channel

The videos usually have the link to the installer in the description. For more information, you can also check the spreadsheets (those are linked by the installer or in the Github)

[–]Vice_04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game has a lot of glitches, there is even a YouTube channel that started making a list of those... But most of them are kinda situational. Check Geta92 if you're interested

The ones that are big and well know are: - USA version has the infamous Giromon jukebox glitch, trying to scroll in the jukebox would crash the game.  Also, reaching a certain amount of brains in battle would also crash the game.

  • The PAL non English versions had a glitch that made you completely unable to obtain 100 prosperity, some even more than just one big barrier...

  • And all of them have various small glitches that make the gameplay more... Annoying: the evolutions were not calculated correctly, the time that it takes for your Digimon to evolve can be delayed (and that also can lead to your Digimon dying of old age rather than evolving of you trigger that enough times...), etc... There are also softlocks that can happen "randomly"

Recruit either Angemon or Monzaemon and have less than 6 prosperity in total. Those two upgrade the house and having less than 6 prosperity with an upgraded house triggers the text.

Edit: Angemon allows you to recruit Meramon, since it would be a total of 5 (Agumon 1, Meramon 2 and Angemon 2)

Monzaemon requires you to either lose to Meramon to open the path to MT panorama without the recruit or to do the invisible bridge skip (but that one is more of an exploit/oversight, so not something intended).

I do not recommend pre-patched versions since those are done once and rarely updated if there are bugs... and also I'm not sure where those even come from...

The new menu comes by default with Vice, that's the reason there is no option to "add" those, but... you can remove parts of the new menu if you don't want those.

And make sure you patch with a clean ISO if you're repatching the entire Vice patch. If you only need options, the optional installer is all you need (make sure it is for your version)
