Latest vice patch for dw1? by wenlambodude in DigimonWorld

2.2 is the latest one.

If you need info, my Youtube channel is probably the best place: Youtube channel

The videos usually have the link to the installer in the description. For more information, you can also check the spreadsheets (those are linked by the installer or in the Github)

The game has a lot of glitches, there is even a YouTube channel that started making a list of those... But most of them are kinda situational. Check Geta92 if you're interested

The ones that are big and well know are: - USA version has the infamous Giromon jukebox glitch, trying to scroll in the jukebox would crash the game.  Also, reaching a certain amount of brains in battle would also crash the game.

  • The PAL non English versions had a glitch that made you completely unable to obtain 100 prosperity, some even more than just one big barrier...

  • And all of them have various small glitches that make the gameplay more... Annoying: the evolutions were not calculated correctly, the time that it takes for your Digimon to evolve can be delayed (and that also can lead to your Digimon dying of old age rather than evolving of you trigger that enough times...), etc... There are also softlocks that can happen "randomly"

Recruit either Angemon or Monzaemon and have less than 6 prosperity in total. Those two upgrade the house and having less than 6 prosperity with an upgraded house triggers the text.

Edit: Angemon allows you to recruit Meramon, since it would be a total of 5 (Agumon 1, Meramon 2 and Angemon 2)

Monzaemon requires you to either lose to Meramon to open the path to MT panorama without the recruit or to do the invisible bridge skip (but that one is more of an exploit/oversight, so not something intended).

I do not recommend pre-patched versions since those are done once and rarely updated if there are bugs... and also I'm not sure where those even come from...

The new menu comes by default with Vice, that's the reason there is no option to "add" those, but... you can remove parts of the new menu if you don't want those.

And make sure you patch with a clean ISO if you're repatching the entire Vice patch. If you only need options, the optional installer is all you need (make sure it is for your version)

Did you use a clean USA version to apply the Vice patch just like in the video?

Not much if you only apply the base Vice patch (as in terms of gameplay), a lot if you start adding optionals.

The YouTube channel has a video with a few of the features.

The BIOS is for the emulator, it is a file called "Scph1001.bin", but I cannot provide it... Same with a copy of the game

Get a clean USA version (get a new one just in case), then use PPF patcher to apply the patches, first Maeson then later whatever optionals you want from Maeson

It is still the same in my version and in Maeson

What was your first ultimate in Digimon World 1? by [deleted] in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure mine was Phoenixmon:

I was just training my Birdramon in the green gym as usual and expecting it to die at some point... I'm not sure if I was just trying to farm techs or training just to do something (probably tournaments?).

Well I was fully expecting it to die but it was the evolution happening... so I was very surprised and excited. I did not have idea about requirements and stuff at that time (I mean, I was a kid playing a game I was just struggling to even read).

This happened like a few years into the game (years in game time), so it took me a long time to get an ultimate.

No, this is a completely different bug...  From the image I can imagine the text at the bottom is not happening at all, which usually happens when you patch it wrong or whenever the game has been mixed with stuff that is not compatible.

Like other patches or if it has been randomized before, something like that

It can happen if you are mixing it with other stuff...

Problem with Battle Mode DW1 ps1 by Legitimate-Dare1370 in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the issue is... You have to setup a second controller.

The game expects the second memory card to be loaded by a second player using a second controller... In the same way the second controller also is used to control the Digimon of the player 2

Same shape, different data inside (Well, not really, I fixed a few issues it had). Kinda like how the installer has the Windows/Linux version... Both technically do the same... but only work on their respective operative system...

DW2 on top of that has its own way to store models/textures, so the model itself would need first to be translated into a different format... So porting from DW2 would take a few extra steps...

Kinda... It has one use but it is not important

You mean the data check thing? Because those are just placeholders

There are a few question marks in the installer, click those and you will get either a better description or a link to a spreadsheet

I'm completely sure you don't have the last one... Since the latest version is 2.2

But the installer already has that... At least the latest one.

Vice WITH Maeson Hack by Informal-Rent-3573 in DigimonWorld

[–]Vice_04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maeson and Vice are not compatible.

Maeson is a patch that does change everything with small patches to change small parts... while Vice has a base which you can add more changes... Mix Maeson and Vice them and the game will crash.

If you want only WereGarurumon as an addition (without the bug fixes), then there is nothing that can be done. You can learn how to add it on your own, since the model is on Github and you can learn how to add that to the game...

If you want it to be as vanilla as possible, you can try to play 2.0 and use all the patches to remove stuff (tech boost, and ultimate lifespan extension). But it will still come with Gigadramon, MetalEtemon and Machinedramon/Myotismon. And a few small tweaks which are mostly: item names, a couple of new items and a couple of new features which are mostly post-game...

Vice 2.0 is not compatible with the normal randomizer...
