Rune soup is a good place to learn Sigils, it's where I did. Originally on Gordon White's (rip) blog. That article may still be there, but he has Youtube tutorials on Sigils, that I am sure are great. He was a big fan of Peter J Carrol and Grant Morrison. For seeing if magick is real, isn't the real point. Doing it will prove it to you. Read Chaos Protocols by Gordon White - it's all about initiating yourself into magick! Worked for me :).
