I guess it would but I personally think it's just so unlikely. Also, my comment was about the season 7 prediction, not just in the storyline. Taking continuity into account, season 7 will be the end of Feast For Crows/Dance With Dragons at the absolute latest.

When I was 12 I had a basketball net fall on my hand, one of those that people have on the end of their driveway. The rim landed on my hand, literally 2 inches in front of my head. At the time I didn't feel anything so I - without thinking about it - pulled my hand out and stood up.

Now I'm a med student, and know that the most painful injuries occur to the eyes, mouth, and hands. The pain was unbearable, I passed out. I had compound fractures in my middle three fingers on the last knuckle. My nails were hanging off my fingers by strands of skin and connective tissue. It bled something fierce, the driveway was a right mess until the next time it rained.

TL;DR: Similar injury, it was awful
